Isabella was spayed 5 years ago in April, 6 months after that she went into heat. She has done this every 5 to 6 months and everytime the vet would say it was a urinary infection ,which was also happening. We moved to P.A. from N.J. and found a new vet who told us the problem could be a ovarian remnant which could be so tiny that its like looking for a needle in a haystack . This would cause her to come into heat. We had bloodwork done to see if this was the case, it was positive. We chose to do the surgery because she had been bleeding for over 2 months ,and we were afraid she could become anemic. She just had her surgery this morning and the piece was about the size of a marble. She is doing good but very sore . We are all hoping for the best. I have seen alot of questions about dogs who are spayed and still bleed, well this is one of the reasons it could happen. If you are looking for a vet to spay your dog please check his references carefully, make sure he has done them before on a dog like you have(size). You could save your dog alot of pain and yourself alot of money.
