Arrival Story:
Jack was a stray who showed up on a family's porch and never left. They took him in, got him his shots, and started looking for a home or a new foster for him. The family was starting to get attached but the father was allergic to dogs and therefore they couldn't keep him. Each family member seemed to have a different name for him- Patches, Snickers, Jack...the list went on and on, and he didn't really answer to any of them! I met his rescue family the day that one of my fosters got adopted out. She told me the situation, and of course I agreed to take the little sweetheart as a foster. The mom and her 3 kids brought him over, all very concerned about making sure it would be a good place for Jack/Patches/Snickers. Fortunately they all had a great feeling about me. Shannon, the mom, said she was shocked because none of the kids even cried when they got in the car. Jack has just melted my heart, and I am glad circumstances brought him where he is now (that is, curled up at the foot of the bed).

Bio:
11/10/08 - Jack's been here for about a month now, and his personality has really come out more since he first showed up. He is unfortunately positive for heartworms and has had some bad days lately. We'll be talking to the vet soon about doing the heartworm treatment. We started obedience classes last week, and I think he's really going to like them. As shy as he was at first, man does he shine when every other person is stopping to pet him or give him a treat! He loves going to Petsmart. 11/19/08- Jack passed away from the effects of heartworm. He got sick very suddenly, and sadly, we couldn't save him.
