The Adventures of Beauregard
A Day at the LakeApril 26th 2009 6:59 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Today I went to the lake with Coley and my foster brother of the moment Slim Jim. I saw a bunch of ducks and geese but they mostly ran from me. I had lots of fun walking around the lake and playing in the water. I really liked the water and went wading a lot. The funny thing is that I was in the water more than Slim, and he is Lab. I thought labs were supposed to love water. I hope I can play in the water again sometime…
Time to fill you in on my progress, I guess...January 8th 2009 7:55 am[ Leave A Comment ] So, a lot has happened since I last wrote in this thing. First of all Leo, Coley’s bullying Shih-tzu finally gave up on beating me up and will now play with me. I guess it just took him some time to warm up to the idea of having a larger brother. I’m also a lot less shy in public. Although, I’m still a little wary of strangers I will usually approach them and let them pet me if they want, and I don’t have to hide behind Coley’s legs to feel safe now. I’m also in the middle of my beginner’s training class at Pet Smart. It’s a lot of fun because I get to do a lot of walking and learn new things. At the end of class, my trainer, Kandice lets me and the other dogs play together too. There is a black German shepherd in my class that everyone says is my girlfriend, but we are just really good friends. We are still looking into herding, but there doesn’t seem to be that many training facilities out there dedicated to the sport…Oh and Coley took me to get neutered yesterday. I’m not very happy about it, but she says it’s for the best and it shouldn’t take long to heal up….
A big week for BeauregardOctober 14th 2008 1:10 pm[ Leave A Comment ] So my new owner, Coley just brought me home last Thursday. I wasn't well socialized at my last home and didn't recieve much attention or exercise, but all that's changed now. I now live on a small farm complete with miniature sheep and cats to chase and Leo's to harrass (I don't think he likes me much). On Saturday I went to the vet to get my shots (I didn't like it much but I didn't cry like Leo who is much older than me). Then on Monday I went to see the nice groomers at Pet Smart for my first bath ever. I smell a lot better that's for sure. Coley works at Pet Smart, so I got to follow her around and help her with her work before the groomers arrived. Alot of people there tried to pet me and give me treats, but I'm a little shy so I mostly hid behind Coley legs. I guess I just need to get out more, but that shouldn't be a problem since Coley is enrolling me in a training class next week.
