Back Packing Trip this weekend...

Well mommy and I have been busy preparing for our first back packing trip ever! Yes, we've done lots o camping and gone on hikes during our camping trip, but nothing like this. Mommy has wanted to do this for so long and finally it is happening! I have my very own backpack that mommy has been strapping on me around the house for me with weight in it so that I can get used to carrying it. She says i have to be a big girl and carry around my own stuff. Man, I was hoping to be able to just run free without anything on my back...dangit! ruff.

So we leave saturday morning really early (I wonder if mommy and daddy will be able to wake up that early) and we are going over the border into Alabama... We will be hiking out and camping over night and then back on sunday!

The Holidays...

Well it was hard not having grandma here for Thanksgiving...and will be hard not having here with us for Christmas...Mommy cries about it alot...I lick her face when she does to try to tell her we will be ok. I miss grandma alot too. She was one of my favorites. : (

But, we are making it ... mommy and I. Together we have lots of fun. I love our walks together that we take everyday! : ) Tail Wag inserted here.

We are getting ready for christmas and I think I will be spoiled as usual. I am hoping for some really great bones this year! Ruff. I think Daddy will get me something fun too! Yeah! We have lots of stops to make for christmas week...I get to play with my new friends too! RUUUUUUFFFFFF. Tail wag.

I hope everyone gets spoiled a little like I do this holiday season!

Sloppy Kisses

My Camping Trip 2008...

Well sorry I didn't write as soon as I got back but um I was wiped out from all the fun we had!!! hahahahah. : ) Soo I was pretty nervous watching mommy and quincy load up the truck -- I thought they were going to leave me!!!

We left friday morning and headed up to the mountains...I had to sit on mommy's lap b/c the truck was packed FULL. We had alots of stuff!!! These boys know how to CAMP! Mommy was sooo excited to go camping...and so was I. We arrived up in North Georgia Mtns (Blue Ridge) approximately 2 hours later and I got to run loose all over the place! I dove into the creek IMMEDIATELY b/c I Love water and to swim. I was in heaven. ahhh.

We enjoyed the evening and I got to eat some people food (only b/c we were on vacation, mommy says), it was great. I laid at mommy's feet or sometimes got to sit in her lap by the warm fire. ahhh.

On saturday we woke up and ate good...walked around...did some poopin and peeing. Went in the creek some more. Then we went for a long drive to the swinging bridge and it was fanfreakintastic...I was a bit nervous and off balance on on the walk across the bridge but I got used to it. On the way up there we saw a skinned dog on the site of the road and still don't really understand who would do that to a dog? Mommy wouldn't even let me near it. When we got back to camp it was dark and someone had stolen my water bowl...it was the only thing missing from the campsite! What???? So that was strange and a bit odd.

Next morning we woke up and just chilled around the campsite for awhile and I got to play ball all morning long...it was sooo fun. I just ran and ran and ran! ah. then we went down to the creek and rick spotted my water bowl across the creek setup behind a tree? WHat??? that was wierd. We retrieved it and still don't understand who would have moved it and why. hmm.

Unfortunately we had to leave that afternoon and pack up camp. I was sad to come home. I really like the wilderness. : ( Mommy says we are going again in January and it will be a 3 nighter! yeah!!! heheh.

Camping...

Tomorrow morning mommy and I are going camping up in the mountains of Elijay, GA. I am really excited b/c I get to swim in the creeks and run around all over the place! I am sure mommy will take lots of pictures of us so you can see them when we get home! My tail is already wagging just thinking about it. I might try to catch a fish or two in my mouth...then maybe mom can cook it up real good for me on the campfire. Plus I get to be with my new best friend (mommy's boyfriend) whom I can't wait to see again tonight! Well I gotta go help mommy pack now! (panting)

New Friends...

Today Dakota met 4 new furry friends...their names are Brother, T-Bone, Eileen and Osa. She got to swim in a pool all day long and play fetch with her mommy and brother (another chocolate lab). She is sleeping now and snoring while shaking her hind legs...awww.
