I have had difficulty breathing since awhile but medication was doing the trick and I was fine. All of a sudden, I started to cough real bad and mom took me to the vet to have me x-rayed.
My trachea in my chest is almost flat and the medication is not doing it anymore. Mom was told I need a splint inserted in my trachea and Texas A&M could do it but it will cost $4500!!!
Mom cannot afford that and she is asking for prayers for me, for a miracle to happen. I am a very healthy boy otherwise and I could live many more years if that was fixed. If I don't get the surgery, I will have to cross the Bridge and mom has a hard time facing this right now, as she already lost 6 of my siblings since December 2011. She cannot face that at this point.
She has been taking care of all the rescue dogs and the expenses since a good while and she said she cannot afford that surgery.
Mom is asking all our Dogster pals to pray for a miracle for me.

It's my birthday and mom and husis sang Yappy Birthday to me. I am 11 years young today and I don't feel it! BOL! It's very hot here (103F) so I didn't spend too much time playing outside.
My sister Sammie Poochon played with me and for my birthday, mom bought me my favorite toy: small squeaky tennis balls in various colors! I was thrilled! My brother Macee wanted to steal one from me but I was not gonna have any of it... In the end, I did lend him one though.
In all, it was a very good birthday.

Mom had an application from a person interested in adopting me yesterday. Again, when that person found out I needed to be on thyroid medication for the rest of my life, she declined saying that she didn't want a dog with "special needs".
Mom told her that almost half of the population on the planet is on thyroid meds and it is very cheap. Still, she declined. It's the 4th time an adopter changes his mind about adopting me. Mom got mad and decided that, since she is crazy about me, she will keep me furever.
Tonight she broke the news to me and said: "Pooh Bear, we decided that you will no longer wait for your forever home... you just found it. SHE TOLD ME I'M STAYIN'!!!!!!! YIPPPPEEEEEE!!!

I was rescued on Oct. 7, 2008 from a breeder. I have such a hard time to breath! My foster mom was worried about me and she took me to the vet to have me checked. The bad guy stuck a needle up my neck, twisted my back legs, my head, checked my teeth.
Not only did he insult me once, but TWICE! He told mom I was ancient to start with, and then, he added I was too fat! What is he talking about....ancient and too fat. Hmpffff!
I'm only 8 years old and I weigh only 8 pounds. The doc says I should weigh 6 at the most. Well, turns out he took some blood out of my neck and sent it to be analysed. Mom got the results the next day. Very slow thyroid... what's a thyroid? Mom has to give me 2 little yellow pills a day and the dogter says I should be losing weight within two weeks. I don't mind the pills cuz mom wraps them in Venison/Potato dog food...YUMMY!
Apparently, I will get back to be slim like in my teenage years. The vet told mom that once I lose the weight, 90% of the breathing problem will be resolved. At least, that part is good.
