Arrival Story:
Tikko was purchased from a musher (sled dog driver) in the Adirondacks of New York as a 10 week old puppy. He spent his first few months working with me in Maine, nights, netting for bats. He's now nearly a year old and a lean leggy 67 lbs. We've raced a couple skijor races this winter, and though he needs to learn a bit more focus, he did very very well. I just love watching this dog run. I've been working hard this fall, 2009 on his skijor commands, particularly 'on-by' where he needs to pass another dog and then continue on. He's done really well and is eager to learn and easy to train, if I do it correctly. He thrives on treat, praise and a good game of tug. Recently, I've been working on his whistle recall. So far, good success. Good dog!

Tikko's grandfather was the lead dog on Doug Swingleys winning Iditarod team!
