Arrival Story:
Huddled in a pen in front of a Petco as part of a Rescue Adoption event last weekend. There were twenty other dogs--mostly puppies--looking for a home too. He had been found dirty and matted, tagless and running loose in a small mountain community--coyote bait for sure. Owners couldn't be found. He had fleas, ticks (really ugh!), crossed eyes, an ear infection, low thyroid , was severely underweight and just plain exhausted. In spite of it all, he has the most beautiful manners--an elegant way of moving and gives very sweet kisses to show his gratitude. He has been accepted by the rascally, rough and tumble Hooligan, our rescued Wheatie, and Miss Gypsy Rosalee, the walkin' boss Airedale Terror rescue. They have "packed up" in just five days and have made a very happy and contented family in their forever home.

He was named after the French gypsy Django Reinhardt, one of the first jazz guitarists, famous in Europe during the 30's and '40's. A vagabond poodle mix...seemed like a natural name to me.
