Arrival Story:
I am a volunteer with a local rescue group. On 1/19/08 I stopped by the adoption event to see how it was going, in the back room was a cage with a little dog making a big fuss. "Why is that dog in the back room? Oh that is Nikita and we don't know quite what to do with her. She just got returned and she was going to be euthanized. She bit a child." I spent the next half an hour coaxing her out of her cage with liver treats. Then I spent some time walking her around the store. I had fostered undersocialized, fear aggressive dogs before so I thought I would give it a shot, and agreed to foster her. After many months of fostering and working with Kita, we became very attached and accustomed to her and her ways. She can still be a little unpredictible. We decided that it would be better to keep her ratherthan to risk adopting her out to someone and having her bite an innocent person and being put down. She has more personality than any dog I have ever met. She can be loving and cuddly and bossy and sassy. And if you're not careful, she just might bite! She has the nickname of "Spicy" which sums her up perfectly!

Bio:
Here is Kita's story according to animal control: They received a call about a little dog running loose. They came out and tried to catch it. No luck. They came back and tried again. No luck. Repeat for 3 months. She was basically feral and a lady in the neighborhood would feed her. It took animal control 3 months to catch her. Like I said, she is Spicy!
