Birthday: April 1st 2002 Likes: To snuggle Pet-Peeves: The kitty cat Favorite Toy: Mom & Dad Arrival Story: Emma was rescued from a bad lady in Olympia who was breeding Cavaliers in her basement while she ran a daycare upstairs. She crated her dogs 20 hours a day and had them all de-barked. Luckily the woman's daughter appealed to her to adopt out her dogs - and we adopted Emma from Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue! Don't buy puppy mill dogs!
Emma had congenital cataracts - should never have been bred - but was so her puppies most likely all became blind at some point in their little lives..
Lucky Star found a wonderful animal eye doctor in Oregon - and paid for her to have lense replacement surgery. She had been totally blind up until that point - and is missing most of her teeth from poor care.
As with a lot of eye surgery, one of the lenses slipped and had to be removed - her vision is slowly failing in the other as well. But that doesn't keep her from being a happy happy girl! She really loves her sister Mollie. I've Been On Dogster Since:
