I never thought I'd have to say this so soon but very sadly on Saturday, January 15, 2011 our Gracie girl lost her battle with kidney failure. She was not feeling well for 2 weeks and in that time had 2 vet visits & 2 vet hospitalizations. The vet said her kidneys were giving out and there was nothing else they could do. We had to make one of the hardest decisions of our life and have her put to sleep. You deserved more than the 2 years of a good life you had with us Gracie after the lst 10 years you had in that horrible puppy mill. But that was not meant to be. You were such a good girl. We will love & miss you forever our Gracie girl.

Gracie has Glaucoma. So the sun hurts her eyes and she doesn't stay outside long when it's sunny. Just long enough to do her business then it's back inside. She only has to be out for less than a minute for the sun to bother her eyes. Poor Gracie the other day after she was finished doing her business, as she headed back into the garage to go into the house, she ran right into the side of the door frame. I felt so bad for her. I usually try to guide her back inside when it's sunny but somehow missed this time. Made me feel so bad for her.
So my Gracie Girl is an "inside" dog in the Summer when it's sunny outside.
