I've always wanted a doberman and I found the website for the Doberman Rescue of Nebraska. I emailed my application and they sent someone to see our house and when we were approved they called us and said they had the perfect dog for us. We originally wanted a female but they said he gets along well with all the dogs he's met. So we thought we'd give it a try. So we drove the 4 1/2 hours to Omaha, NE and met him. He seemed okay with the other two so we filled out the necessary paperwork and took him home.
The dobe rescue said they found him as a stray in Garden City, KS. His medical records say that when they found him he was skinny and missing some teeth. 14 more teeth had to be pulled when they took him to the vet. So, he's old, he drools, and he has the beginnings of cataracts. But ya know, we still love him to death!!
We had to have Eli James put to sleep today due to very severe arthritis. He was a very good dog and will be greatly missed by his family Mommy and Daddy, Mollie Mae, and Chopper Dean, Grandma and Grandpa Lair and Sadie Jane and Grandma and Grandpa Carrico and Boots. Rest in peace, old friend. We all love you very much and miss you already. The house is so empty without you here, taking up space on the couch.
