Likes:
He likes to play fetch!

Pet-Peeves:
When Teddy tries to steal his chewies.

Favorite Toy:
His rubber fetch balls!

Favorite Food:
Trader Joe's Beefy Treats.

Favorite Walk:
Wherever we go.

Best Tricks:
He loves to play fetch but he also knows how to lie down when I speak "dog" to him. We learn new things every day about what he knows and can do.

Arrival Story:
We were "Gumby"'s foster parents before we adopted him. He has proven to be a devoted and caring companion to our Henry, and we felt that providing him stability was in his best interests. He still needs some training but for the most part he's proving to be a very smart little guy. I don't understand how someone could leave him in the streets to rot. :(

Bio:
He came to us with the name "Gumby", but he quickly became "Buddy" because that's how we referred to him as ("Hey, come over here little buddy..."). It was as if he chose his own name, responding every time we did call him Buddy, so it's been Buddy for a while now. He 's always in need of a good buzz/grooming because his hair just goes wild, especially on his head, LOL. Though when he puts his ears up they go out instead of up, so he looks like Yoda to me. He is VERY sweet and gets along great with Henry and keeps the cats in line if the cats are misbehaving. UPDATE JULY 2009: Buddy has proven himself to be a loyal companion, though he does have problems with stranger dogs and people. He has to walk with a muzzle on, because he attacked a "strange" (but chunky, thank goodness, otherwise it would've proven disastrously injured) chihuahua once, and once he's focused on his irritation, it's go time. :( He was being protective of Henry and Teddy and didn't seriously injure the chihuahua, but he did grab ahold of his back pretty good. So now he's muzzled when he walks. =_= Otherwise, he IS a very intelligent dog and obeys us very sweetly inside the house. He is a ham, too, and will play with us whenever we want...he "hates" it when we blow in his face and will whine and rub his face with his paws and roll around like a drama king, whining and making chimp-like sounds. LOL...he knows who his family is and he protects them well. Sometimes when I yell at the cat though, he goes after the cat...but once he's told to stop it, he does. He's our smartest dog, I believe.
