Family and those judge peoples

Hiya guys. I sure am sorry I haven't written here for soooo long. My Grandma was real sick and hurting and I had to take care that she got lots of licks and stuff so she could feel better.

It really is bad when peoples get old and they can't be like they used to be. My Grandma is like that. You see, she had some tummy trouble and then she lost a lot of weight and then she started not remembering stuff. My Dad got real sad and busy taking care of Grandma.

Well, after a lot of those things called months, he found a special place with real nice peoples that could take care of Grandma. The bad thing is that she has to stay away from our home. I got sad with her gone, but Dad takes me over to see her a lot and she is feeling better.

I miss her. Lucky for me that I can sleep in her favorite chair, because I can still smell her and it makes me not so sad.

Oh, I almost forgot, I got to go back and stand in the ring thing for those judge peoples. Well, there was this judge that really liked me. He gave me some nice scratches behind my ears and gave my Dad a whole bunch of those ribbons. My Dad told me after that, I don't have to play in the ring if I don't want to anymore because I got that championship thing you get after you get 15 points.

I still don't know how much is 15 and I still can't find where my Dad keeps those point things, but I bet they taste good. My Dad is really proud of me for getting them - they have to taste good...don't you think?

Anyway, I got another new name. It's mostly the same name, but with a couple of changes in it.

DC Kr'msun Nefer-Temu Worth His Wait In Gold SC

My Dad said the 'DC' means I'm a champion in the ring thing and on the field where I get to chase the white plastic bags.

I told my Dad there should be a champion thing for when I get to run after my ball and bring it back to him. He said that I would only get a championship for that if I always gave it back to him after I got it. Where's the fun in that?

Well, guys, I got to get back to doing some other stuff. You gotta write and tell me how everyone is doing with you and your peoples. Bye.

I got a new name!

Hey there, PupPals.

Sorry I haven't been doing too much here on Dogster lately, but I've been really busy doing lots of stuff. Some stuff has been fun, but some other stuff has been kinda yucky.

The bad stuff is that my Grandma has been reeeeeally sick with an upset tummy. My Dad says it's something called diverticulosis. Peoples have the longest names for stuff and things. I'd just call it a bad tummy, but my Dad says it's not fun for Grandma right now.

I tried to help. I brought over some of my favorite toys and bones to see if Grandma would like to play. I even gave her my extra special ball...ya know, the bouncy one I love to run after? My Dad said that playing wouldn't help Grandma.

No fair. Chewing my bones always makes me feel better. I guess I gotta try something else. My Dad said that just being near Grandma makes her smile.

I tried that and it works. She smiled. Isn't that neat?

Oh, and I got a new name. No, I'm still Rory, it's just that my special name just got a little longer. You see, I've been chasing the white plastic bag bunnies around a lot of fields and I guess I've been doing real good, 'cause my Dad now says I've become a senior courser and a field champion.

I don't know what that means, but as long as I get to chase the bunnies, then I'm a happy pup.

Anyway, my new name is:

FC Kr'Msun Nefer-Temu Worth His Wait In Gold SC

Neat, huh?

Anyway, I can hear my Grandma in the next room and she needs me to be there so she smiles. I gotta go.

Hey guys, do you have a long name or a special name like mine? Let me know.

Anyway, you guys have a great day. Bye

Golly, PupPals, this is an honor. I knows that theres a whole lot of dogs here on Dogster and I wants to say hello to thems every chance I get. This is my big chance to say 'HI' to everyone...oh, and also to say thanks.

Hi! Thanks!

I woulda wrote sooner and said that, but I've been reeeeeeally busy chasing bunnies.

No, not those real bunnies. I mean the white plactic bag bunnies that I get to run after. My Dads call it Lure Coursing. I call it fun. Ya see, I get to run around a biiiig field with all kinds of other sighthounds (that's what I am) and we try to see who can catch the bunnies better. I get to run and have fun and my Dad Andy gets those funny ribbon things for holding me until it's my turn.

My Dad really is happy when he gets those ribbon things. He sure is funny like that.

I'm going to ask my Dad if I can post a picture of me running so you can see how much fun I'm having.

I hope all you guys are also having fun. How do you have fun?

Well, I gotta go practice being good on my leash. My Dad and I are going to see if I can be a good dog and earn a title for doing what I'm told. It's called a TDI and it means something special for peoples, but for me it means I can go to a people that's sick and make them feel better, ever though they might be in one of the hospital places. You know, a vet's office for peoples.

Anyway, I gotta practice. I'll let you know how I do after I take my test. Bye.

The Big Dog Show

Hi everyone. I got to tell you about the greatest time my Dads and me had at the Dog Show last month. It was great.

I saw a whole lot of dogs and we all had fun in the ring things and besides all the ribbon things, my Dad Andy got one of those point things I told you about. He keeps telling me that I get the points, but he never tells me what they look like or if I can eat them or anything.

Anyway, we was there for five whole days and I got to meet all kinds of special dogs and lots of peoples too.

I even got to meet a reeeeal nice lady named Sarah. She draws pictures of dogs and told me that she was going to draw a picture of me. ME! Isn't that great?

All of the judge peoples were nice and told me that I was a good boy, but the extra special thing that happened was something that made my Dads reeeeeal happy.

Ya see, I had just left my new PupPal, Senna, in the ring thing and went over to watch with my Dads as all the other Pharaoh Hounds I know went in. While they were having fun, a tall man that talked kind of funny came over to me and my Dads and told us that I looked better than any Pharaoh Hound he saw.

Yeah, really. He said that my chest and head were just perfect and that my legs were real good. But the best part was when he told my Dads where he was from. Some place called Malta.

My Dad told me later that Malta is the place where they have Pharaoh Hounds as their national dog...whatever that means. But my Dad said that it was a really big compliment being told you look real good by some peoples from that place.

Oh, there was another day that a really nice people was looking at me while I was in the ring thing. When I came out, she looked at me and told my Dads that she was a judge people and she was learning all about me and my friends so she could be in the ring with us at other shows.

She was neat. She petted me and did that judge thing that they do - yeah, she touched me there, so keep it to yourself - and she told my Dads that I was a very nice boy. I liked her and wagged my tail a whole lot and she didn't even give me any treats - yeah, she was that nice.

On the last two days, we all went to another part of the big building we were in where they had this thing called "Meet the Breeds". It was fun.

I got to meet a lot of poeple that didn't know anything about me. I got a lot of treats and made a whole lot of new friends. My Dads and me even got to walk around and see all the other breeds of dogs that there was. Did you know that Leonbergers like to play fetch just like me?

Yeah...honest.

Well, it's getting late and I got to let my Dads and Grandma know that I gotta go outside one more time before I go to bed. They gotta be reminded sometimes.

I hope that you all get the chance to meet other breeds of dogs. You know what would be great? Every dog knowing every other dog and getting along. That would be fun - always someone to play with.

Maybe this year (it's new, by the way - my Dads told me so) we can all have fun and not fight. Peoples should do it too. They fight more than us.

Well, I really got to go now. Bye everyone.

Read all about it!

Hey, PupPals, does your peoples read those magazine things? You know, the paper things that are really easy to tear up.

I gotta tell ya, my Dads are really sneaky. They took me a looooong time ago to the dog park I like to go to. There was this people who said his name was Seth Casteel. My Dad said he has a company thing called Little Friends Pet Photography - whatever that is.

He was real nice. He had one of those camera things that takes photos like the pictures on my diary page. He took a lot of those photo things and after we left, I forgot all about him.

Well, guess what? I got my picture in one of those magazines and it's one of the ones Seth took. It's called Dog Fancy. No, I don't know why they call it that. Must be one of those big peoples words that I gotta learn later.

Anyway, I'm in the January issue on page 50 and 51. My Dad said I must be reeeeeal important, cause I got put on two pages.

Isn't that neat?

You can see the picture if you follow the link right here: http://www.dogchannel.com/dog-magazines/dogfancy/dog-fancy-h ail-to-the-pharaoh-hound.aspx

One of my Dads was talking to my Grandma saying that I should charge peoples for something called autographs. I don't know what that is, but it sounds yucky.

Oh, I hear my Grandma calling me. I'll write more later and tell ya all about the BIIIIIIIIG dog show thing I went to.

See ya later.

It's been soooooo long

Oh, wow! PupPals, I can't believe that it has been two whole months and I haven't written to everybody about all the stuff that has been happening around my home. I thought I should have been telling you guys about the special shows I've been going to and my special training over at the Ring Thing place, but not everybody was feeling good.

I should've been letting you know that we all got kinda sick a while ago.

Well, my Grandma got a little sick, and my tummy hurt a little after I ate that lizard, but my Dads got the kinda sick that makes you want to stay in bed a lot.

No fair! I had both my Dads home and they couldn't even play with me like I wanted. Even worser than that, because they were always around, I couldn't sneak into the office room thing they have where they keep the puter thing that I use to tell you all about what's going on.

I'm glad they're better, cause now I can write to you more often now.

Oh, I wanted to tell you about trips in the car thing. When your peoples put a few things in the back of their car thing, that means you should make sure you go potty before you get in, cause they may be driving for a little while. But if you see that your peoples put a whole lots of stuff in the back of the car thing, you better be ready to keep your legs crossed and hope there's no bumps in the road.

My Dad, Andy, had our car thing packed with lots of stuff and I made sure I did all of what I'm supposed to do in the back yard before I got in my backseat and put my car harness on (you gots to be safe like that). Well, I am sure glad I did everything I needed to do, cause we started driving and driving and driving for a whole four hours.

That's a long time.

Anyway, when we finally stopped, we were in the middle of this thing they call a desert. There were buildings and stuff and my Dad said they place was called Primm. He said it was on the border of two states and that's where they had a dog show. These desert things are really hot...did you know that?

I had fun cause they had everything inside a nice big room with carpet that felt good on my paws. I made a lot of new PupPal friends and had fun with another Pharaoh Hound. Her name is Sade and she's a champion. She's also kinda bossy, being a girl, but we had a good time. My Dad got more of those ribbon things and after a couple of days, we got back in the car thing and went home and it took just as long to get home as it did going.

This traveling thing can get a puppy down, ya know?

Oh, hey, I have to tell you that next month is an extra special thing happening and it's right near my house. The call it The National Dog Show and it's happening over at a place called Long Beach in a thing called an arena.

This thing called the AKC (my Dad says it means, American Kennel Club) is having a big party for dogs. They are calling it "Meet the Breeds" and I get to be with my Dads in the Pharaoh Hound booth where I can meet all the peoples that want to see what a Pharaoh Hound is all about. Isn't that neat?

My Dad said that on Saturday and Sunday, December 12th and 13th, we'll be there to say 'Hi' to everyone that comes around, so if you're in that Long Beach place, tell your peoples to take you to see me. I don't get to meet many PupPals and it would be great if we could see each other nose to nose.

Oh, and my Dad told me that on Saturday, we'll be playing in the ring thing again. You know what that means...I gotta stand nice and my Dad gets more of those ribbon things. I hope I get a chance to play a little too. A pup's just gotta have fun.

See ya.

My Dad Did Great - Sure Wish I Did

Hiya PupPals. Boy, those peoples sure do funny stuff and things.

Me and my Dads got back from that Oregon place I told ya about. Going up there was lots of fun. I saw lots of new peoples and they were all reeeeal nice to me and my Dads. A lot of them really liked me and petted me - it was nice.

It took a long time in this car thing that my Dad drove to the Eugene place we was going to. When we got there, I saw all my really special Pharaoh Hound Pals and relatives. There was my Mom, Deja, and my Daddy, (his name is Bosch, who I never saw'd before), and two of my brothers, Jet and Jag. I saw my Auntie Amy and my Cousin Ett and I met a lot of other Pharaohs like Elliott and Phorest and Ruadh and Phoebe and Gemba (we're Pals now) and Allura and Evan and Kahla and Kaba and Io and Rooney and Glory and Feyd and Rio and Tipster and Zelda and Khafre and Menza and Zahi and Sonic and Nadia and Naneh and Zany and Wyatt and Khamsin and and and there was lots of us.

All us dogs took our peoples around the ring thing lots of times and we made sure they got lots of those fancy rosette things. My Dad got some of the rosette things too and he was real happy.

We all had lots of fun and then we went for a long drive and when we stopped we were in this big place called a valley and there were trees all around us on things called hills. It was nice.

There was this big thing called a field with a fence on the outside and that's where I got to chase bunnies. Oh, they weren't real bunnies - they was plastic bag things and they got tied to a looooooong piece of string and a peoples made them go all around the field so we could run after them.

Oh, did we have a lot of fun. I ran and ran and ran. It was great.

We had a long drive back to Eugene and I had a long nap. I was tired.

The next day we went back to that Portland place and got back on that airplane thing. After a while, I got taken off in my crate and that's when I got scared. The peoples who took me off the airplane thing put me someplace funny and my crate slid down a slide thing and I bumped my head when it stopped. I was going to cry, but there was both my Dads and they made sure I was okay.

I was really scared and my Dads were reeeeeeal mad at the peoples who got me hurt. One of my Dads talked on the phone thing today and yesterday (that's the day before today - okay?) and he was kinda mad but kinda serious - you know, like when your peoples is telling you to be good before you chew up something on the floor.

Anyway, my Dad told me that the peoples he talked to would make it so me and other dogs don't get hurt anymore. I liked that.

Oh, I'm feeling lots better and I got a lot of nap time so I get to play more now.

Hey, if your peoples are going to fly on those airplane things and they want you to go to, make sure you tell them to talk to those peoples that make those airplane things fly and ask that you get treated real special. My Dad said that not all of those airplane things are safe for dogs and some of the places that they keep them at (they're called airports) aren't safe either, so ya gotta tell your peoples to check that you'll be safe.

Oh boy, my Dads are home. I gotta go. You guys should write and tell me about when you and your peoples get to go places.

So much going on

Golly everybody…I sure am sorry I haven’t written in my diary until now. I have been soooo busy.

My Dads have been taking to those dog show things and they got a few more of those ribbon things. I think my Dad stands better than anyone else I’ve seen, even my Uncle Robert. My PupPal Elliott says that Uncle Robert would stand a lot better if he gave him treats as good as the ones my Dad gives me.

My Dad said that Elliott is the number one Pharaoh Hound in the whole country. As soon as I found out what a country is, I’ll have to see for myself.

Last week, my Dad Andy and I drove a looooong ways to this place called Santa Barbara. It took sooo long to get there, I had to ask my Day why. He said it was because it was far – about three whole hours.

Three hours! Do you know how much that is in dog years? Me neither. But I can tell you that it’s almost forever in puppy years. I didn’t know if we were going to get there or not…but we did.

It was hot. I stood as best as I could but the heat made me sleepy and I didn’t want to hold my ears up. Well, my PupPal, Cairo – he lives there – he and I were in the same ring and his friend, Nathan, got an extra ribbon after the judge people was done. Cairo’s Mom (her name is Betsy and I like her a lot) was real happy about that extra ribbon. I guess they share.

Anyway, as soon as we were done, Dad and I went home. I slept a lot. I remember waking up and I could smell something not nice. My Dad told me it was smoke from a big fire that we were near. I didn’t like it and I told my Dad. He said that I would be okay and we were. As soon as we got home, my other Dad fed me and my Grandma petted me just the way I like it.

I slept a lot more, cause it was hot outside.

Oh, you know what? I get to see some very special dogs and peoples real soon. Yeah, I’m going to see my brothers Jet and Jag. Of course, I really like their first names, Kiss and Two, but don’t tell them I said so. I don’t know if they’d get mad at me or not.

Thanks.

Oh, and I get to see Dr. Cheryl and my Mom, Deja. It’ll be great. My Dads told me we’re going to fly in a thing called an airplane, just like the one I was in when I first came to where my Dads live. We’re going to this place called Portland, then to a place called Eugene. Peoples sure have funny names for places.

After we get to where we’re going, I get to play in another dog show with lots and lots of Pharaoh Hounds. It’ll be fun.

Oh, I just remembered that I want my Dad to pack all my special bones so I have lots to chew and share with my brothers. Do you share your stuff with your brothers and sisters?

Well, I gotta go. I’ll let you know what happened up in Oregon after I get back.

I'm a Big Boy now!

Hiya everybody.

My Dads and my Grandma are great! They gave me all kinds of neat stuff just because yesterday I had this thing called a birthday.

Yeah, I'm not kidding. I'm one full year old and I got a new chase ball and a new bone that's bigger than all the other bones I ever got and a lot of special treats and a special belly rub and even better than that, my Dads put two big pieces of angel food cake with whipped cream in my food dish just for me.

It was good.

I'm kinda hoping I get another birthday real soon, cause that means I get more great stuff.

My Grandma says that everyone has birthdays...that means all of you PupPals have them too.

Did your peoples do some neat stuff for you when you got to one year old? Let me know.

I gotta go...my Dads like throwing my new ball so I can chase it. Bye!

I Gotta Share My Stuff With Who????

Heya, PupPals.

I got to tell ya, having to share stuff can be really bad.

I tell ya what happened. First, my Dads were acting reeeeal funny and saying that I was going to get a biiiiig surprise. I was waiting for a new bone or a new ball or some special treats. What’d I get?

My cousin…Ett.

There I was minding my own stuff and playing with my Dad, when all of a sudden, we had company. I love having new people come over only it wasn’t new…it was my Auntie Amy and Crystal, her people, and Auntie Amy’s daughter, Ett.

It was nice to see them and we had some really nice time out on my play porch and out in my big backyard, but then my Dad said that I needed to be a good boy while they all stayed with us for a few days.

A FEW DAYS?!?!?!?!

You mean I gotta share my stuff with my cousin? My Dads both said yes, so I couldn’t even go from one to the other so I could get my way…no fair.

Well, PupPals, I tried to share and play and sometimes we had a lot of fun, but sometimes my cousin would get reeeeal bossy and all snippy/snappy…ya know, all important like with teeth. I did a lot of jumping back, let me tell you. I even had to give up all of my special bones because Ett decided that they were all hers now. But every time I would tell my Dads what was going on, they’d tell me to play nice.

I am playing nice. I think Ett is just getting back at me for all the rough playtime me and my brothers had with her just before I came home to live with my Dads and my Grandma. It wasn’t my fault that she was 2 weeks younger that me and really small and was really easy to jump on and had a really easy to grab tail and always ran back to Crystal whenever we ganged up on her. She was just a lot of fun to pick on. I tried to talk to her, but she didn’t want to talk about it…just like a girl.

Anyway, I just had to tell ya what was happening around here. If ever, ever, ever your people tell you that relatives are coming to visit, hide your bones and favorite toys and try not to get bit.
