Arrival Story: When we first got Nemo, he was so small..We were always saying where's the dog? So we would hunt for him, hence the name; Finding Nemo ! One day while my kids took me out for a Mother's Day lunch, Nemo was at home with Dad. While at lunch, I received a phone call from my husband..He was on the way to the Vet Hospital, with Nemo. The puppy had crawled behind one of our chairs, which was a recliner, My husband sat down and started to recline back, the puppy was caught in the mechanism. Nemo started screaming..Hubby jumped out of the chair and saw Nemo under the chair, but he was caught..Soon, he quit screaming and became limp..at that time, he slid out of where he was caught, my husband scooped him up in his hand, he was unconscious. He just ran with him to the car...Nemo started to wake up..This was the call I got. My children and I left the lunch and raced to the hospital. As we were in route, another phone call. "They think his little chest is crushed" My heart was breaking. When we got there, my husband rushed to me, appologizing, holding me..."His chest is not crushed, but they think he was strangled, his lungs are filling up with fluid" When the medical professionals came out to talk to us, they said He had a 50-50 chance. He was in a small oxygen pen and they were forcing air into it, to try and force the fluid out of his lungs and giving him Lasix. He was so small, Less than 3 lbs. My husband was beside himself..Felt so responsible. Eventually, Nemo, as you can see, did recover...I felt like it was a miracle. The staff at the hospital, fell in love with him. (natch) They thought he was such a brave little guy. My husband and I were so thrilled. We put rope around the recliners so they would not recline..then we went right out and bought new furiniture, that does not recline. When the new furniture arrived, we trashed the old, even tho' it was not that old. The old furniture was very nice, but was too dangerous...I had heard of recliners hurting animals, but never knew anyone that had happened to and really didn't think about it at the time. Now, I will warn anyone I meet. We were lucky, And so happy to have our little Nemo. There have been no residual effects from that day..he is a happy, loveable, rambunctious boy. No breathing problems. But I never put anything around his neck. He wears a harness for walks. He holds no hard feelings for my husband. He felt so guilty, and kept saying that Nemo would be afraid of him...but he's not. My husband is a great big guy and seeing him be so tender with Nemo, well he aways was, but now he is even more so...special bond there I think. Nemo is 2 now and a strapping 14 lbs. , this happened right after we got him as a lilttle puppy. He is our special little guy, and just like the Disney Nemo, he had a real adventure, before he came home to live with his forever family.
Bio: My grown daughter, loved little Nemo...She is a big Star Wars fan, and would say..."He's going to be a Jedi" Everytime she would call, she would ask how he was doing. As all of you know, raising a puppy is a challange..One day, after he had chewed a small hole in my carpet..My daughter called and said, "Hows My little Jedi doing?" I said, "Honey, I think that Nemo has gone over to the Dark Side" That is how Nemo got his nickname, "Darth Vader". LOL.

I've Been On Dogster Since:
My buddy, Lakota, left us yesterday...Mama and dad took him away and he never came back...Mama and dad are crying and upset...I don't understand. I try to find him..I smell everywhere, but his scent is fading and I don't know why. All I know is that he is not here.
Whee we had snow...I love to play in the snow...Sometimes, if its alot, my big brofur has to go first and make a path for me...but this snow was just right...I love to play in it.
Mama's been busy, so it's been a bit since I've written. Now, I've been tagged by Sammy...I must list 7 random facts about myself. Hummm.
1) I'm 2 years old.
