Arrival Story:
Little Dee-Dee was found starving, and taken to a shelter. Sadly, like so many other innocent furbabies, when she wasn't claimed after a certain period of time, she was placed on the list to be PTS! Fortunately for Dee-Dee, a kindly lady took her to the same rescue centre where her new fursister, Sweetie had been taken some three months before. I don't know what made me check the rescue's website on Friday 19th Sept, 2008 but there she was, and I knew I had to have her. So, on Saturday morning we travelled the sixty-five miles to collect her.

Bio:
Dee-Dee is a bonny and darling little '10 - 12 years young' lady. When she first arrived home with us, she was a weak and scrawny little wretch with rotting teeth and weighing just under 4lbs. UPDATE: 12:10 pm Monday 22nd Sept. 2008 We visited the vet lady. Dee-Dee has a sound little heart and has cataracts in both eyes. She is almost totally blind in her right eye. Dee-Dee tends to suffer from separation anxiety and follows me wherever I go. Her comfort zone is on my lap! Like Sweetie, she has stolen our hearts! I have chosen her birthday as 20th September, the day we adopted her. 25th Aug. 2009 In the pst year Dee-Dee has gained weight ( now weighs just over 5lbs). She is the cutest little pumpkin and knows just how to push the right buttons, has quite a little paddy on her when she wants something, too. At times, she is so like our Mr. Spud, it's uncanny. We love her to bits and thank our lucky stars she is ours.

My birthday by Dee-Dee

Just had to tell everyone I had a real super birthday on Sunday.
What made it even more special was that so many people remembered me and sent rosettes and happy wishes. It really made my day. Thanks you so much my furpals.
Also, I had great foodies i.e. plenty of meatball with mum's special gravy on my biscuits. (Gravy helps cos I got no toofies! BOL).
Glad to report I'm still doing very well except, of course, when I can't find my mum, then I get all panicky. Sigh, sometimes she's right beside me on my right-hand side, which means I can't see her. She tries to keep on my left cos I can still see a little bit out of my left eye. Sadly, I'm beginning to walk into things now and misjudge steps. Mum says it would be easier for me if we lived in just a downstairs house. She's grateful there's perpex fitted along the railing cos there's been many a time I've spotted her on the stairs and tried to get through the bars. I'd fall about 15 feet if there wasn't perspex to stop me!
My fave is still to be curled up in my blankie on mum's lap. (That's where I am at this very moment!) Shhh... don't wake me.
Luvya my dear friends and will seeya around.
Always lotsa hugs,
Dee-Dee.

My day

Well, this morning mum took me to see Dr. John (the vetman) so's he could give me my post op check. As always, I wriggled and wriggled until mum almost dropped me. Dr. John says I'm one of his smallest patients and that I always put the the biggest fight. Anyway, I had my booster and then, he cleverly sneaked a deworming pill into my mouth. The biggest fight came when he tried to clip my nails. Boy, mum was in quite a sweat by the time it was all over. Just goes to show, you don't mess with me!
Glad to say all is fine now. More good news is that my weight has increased to almost 5 1/2 lbs. I'm a real chubby cheeks these days.
Still having a problem on the vision side of things though, and tend to get myself a little lost at times. Of course, it's always worse when I can't find my mum - I sorta go into panic mode until I find her, you see. My favorite pos is still on her lap . Just as well she has a foot rest. It helps her support me on her lap.
Oh. I almost forgot. I'm getting my dad trained as well. He even lets me come up on his lap when he's at the pooter. Wow, I tell ya, I've got it made!
Must go now my precious furpals.
Luvya all.

The Tiny Terror by Dee-Dee

'You are a tiny terror, Dee-Dee!' Yup, that's what mum said to me. Me? Good heavens, I wonder why. Let me think now. Yes, well, the other evening I was sleeping beside her - on the chair. (It was all nice and comfy by the way). Then, my big sis Sox decided to hop up on to mum's lap. My word, I took off like a packet of crackers at her!!! There was me, the tiny toothless wonder going yap-yap and snap-snap at my big sis. It worked, too. She jumped off.
Just cause I'm tiny doesn't mean I haven't got spunk, you know. Mum's 'mine' now and so is my bed for that matter. I had a go at Sweetie the other day cause she walked over me while I was sleeping. I love attention and if mum doesn't respond immediately I squeak and stamp my teeny paws. It works every time.
Pleased to say I'm eating very well. As for the old back legs, well they tend to wobble regularly (the vetman says it's beacause I'm having a senior moment, whatever that means). My right eye, of course, has zero vision - the left one's almost given up the ghost, too. Not to worry though, I've been with mum almost a year now and know where I'm at - well, most times anyway.
Must go now dear friends. Luv ya all, and my furfamily, of course; even though they bowl me over every now and again.
Hugs and woofs to every fur.
Dee-Dee.
