Every day when I walk into my living room and 5 sets of eyes stair back at me from within the crates I am over joyed and speachless. Each one of these dogs are incredible pet's and if I were to own only one I would be luckiest person on earth. How did I get so lucky to have so many great companions.
I silently shake my head and ask how anyone could give up on any of these animals. How could you knowingly drop the dog out of your car on the side of the road or at a shelter and look into their eyes and walk away!
I foster boxers. It is probably one of the most fulfilling and selfless acts I have ever done. It allows me to give back on a small scale. It allows me to repay the love and kindness my dogs have always shown me.
Marley has nothing on Apollo and although he chose us instead of us choosing him I wouldnt give one minute of it up. He brings a joy and playfulness into our home that wouldnt otherwise be there. He greets our new fosters and teaches them how to become great members of the family (minus the chewing, jumping, countersurfing episodes!)
Every day I am thankful that we were there at the right time and place to help save this dog..
Each dog have their own unique personality and there is one or three waiting out there for everyone.
I hear people all the time name off an entire list of qualities they would love to get in a dog and in the same breath they mention buying a puppy. Why not adopt an older or at least an adult rescue !
You can almost custom order an adult rescue and know exactly what you are getting versus a puppy that may or may not adjust to your home and training.
