I took her home but my other dogs ( Buffie and Rudi) did not like her. She had a collar on so took her to our locale pound.
I cried when I left her. It was around the Memorial day weekend and we were going out of town. I kept calling to see if her owners came to get her but they had not. I did not feel comfortable taking her with us over the holidays so informed the pound not to put her down as I would adopt her when we got home. When I went to pick her up they instructed me to which kennel she was located in and I immediately started crying and telling them that there was no way I could ever walk down that aisle and not bring every dog home. When they brought her out to me she immediately remembered me and was crying, jumping all over me. It didn't take too long before the other dogs took to her and we became one happy family. Bio: Maggie died unexpectantly last November. She awoke me in the night having a seizure. We got dressed and rushed her to the Emergency Vet 20+ miles away. The prognosis was grim as she had experienced a ruptured hemangiosarcoma and her body cavity was filled with cancer tainted blood. It was with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to her right then and there. As with all of our deceased dogs she was cremated and brought home to us. She rests in a cabinet along with Molly our first Golden Ret., Buffy our 2nd Golden Ret. and Rudi our Energizer Bunny. The Groups I'm In: Bay Area Big Dogs I've Been On Dogster Since:
