It's the county-wide Trick or Treat evening where I live, and Mom brought home a big bag of candy from Wal-Mart. But she won't let me have any! The closest I can get to a candy bar is chewing on a bit of candy wrapper that fell on the floor when Mom opened the bag. Mom says chocolate isn't good for dogs..but it sure SMELLS good!
Nobody has knocked on our door yet. I want to bark at the kids in their costumes! (I'm real good at barking!)
I got a bath and a haircut yesterday. I love my groomer, Karen. She always uses this real nice-smelling spray on me when I'm all finished getting clean and pretty, and yesterday she tied an orange and black bow on my collar. I'm wearing that bow as my costume tonight! Gee, I hope some kids knock on the door real soon!

I love to bark!
Not because I'm a bad girl, and definietly not because I'm a mean or nasty girl...just because I love it! Mom says I bark because I'm happy to be a dog, and I find joy in barking.
I bark when I want to go outside (which is a good thing, I think!), I bark when I see another dog walking along the road, I bark when the neighbor dogs are outside barking, I bark when I want a treat, I bark when I'm playing...I'm just a barker, I suppose!
I don't think I'm bothering anyone, but Mom is a bit worried. Mom and Pop want to sell this big old house and find something smaller for "retirement"...I don't know what that is, but Pop will retire first, then Mom. When they find their next house, it might be closer to other houses, and Mom is afraid I will bother the new neighbors. I think whatever neighbors we might get will know how lucky I feel to be a dog and that I bark because I'm such a happy girl! Don't worry, Mom!

I think I like weekends the best. That's when Mom and Pop are both home, and we get visitors on the weekends, especially on college football Saturdays. This week Jeremy and Shelly came and they brought Windsor...he's my dog cousin, or something like that. Windsor loves his mom Shelly a lot, just like I love my mom. When Windsor visits here, though, we can't go outside and play because my back yard doesn't have fences all the way around, and my house is on a busy road.
So we have to stay in the house. But that's OK. Windsor is a few years older than me, and I want to play a lot, but Windsor wants to sit on Shelly's lap. I pest him to play and I make him get a little grouchy, I think.
Today Mom is working on the computer and Pop is sleeping, so I'm having a quiet day. Quiet days are good, I guess, but I like all the excitement of football Saturdays and visitors!
