born june 19th three brothers and one sister, i am a hybrid we are called morkies (father maltese and mother is a yorkshire terrier) i understand if my father was a yorkshire terrier and my mother was a maltese i would have been yorktese hybrid.
i was adopted with my sister hannah bear, first night home she had a very low sugar, we got really scared, so we drove her back home, and they gave her some sugar (nutri-cal) to get her sugar level up to a normal amount, the breeder wanted to keep her for a week to get her on a better sugar level, so we left her there for ten days, after giving it a lot of thought, we decided to have the breeder find hannah another family. she did just that the same day to the mother of the woman that adopted one of the male dogs. :) she keep her for another week or so, before giving her to the new owner.
i week later lucy bear had the same thing happen low sugar, a reading of 26 instead of about 100. we rushed her to an all night clinic 30 miles away, they kept her over night, we were getting very nervious. we just lost whinnie bear about three months prior, she was eleven years old. the next morning we picked her up and the vet told us what to do if it happen again, but they didn't think it would. they also informed us that a dog that little, could get low sugar because they are so tiny that things happen fast. until they reach 2lbs plus. we then took her to our local vet of 16 years. and they check her all over again. she has been great ever since. we have had yorkies for the past 25 years but they have been 3lbs plus and grew to about 10 lbs. so this small is new to us. she now weights 1 lb 14 oz and she can double in a couple of weeks, she should get to between 5 - 6 lbs

attention morkie owners please give us a much information you might have. this is a fairly new hybrid

thanks for reading
