Arrival Story: Bubba was rescued and given to me by my sister when I told her we were going to start looking for another scottie. He was an older un-neutered male looking for a good home. We were happy to oblige.

Bio: I took him to the vet immediately to have him neutered and get a dental but pre-op bloodwork showed very elevated liver counts so the procedures were put on hold. We put him on a prescribed treatment for two weeks and rechecked him. The counts were down some, but still high. Since he was asymptomatic, we went ahead with the neuter and a quicky dental so he was not under anesthesia too long. He was a funny little guy who had very sensitive feet. He wouldn't walk on anything that was rough. He'd just stand there and wait for you to carry him. He and Bea were great partners even if she did find pleasure in terrorizing him. We had Bubba for about a year before he started to show signs of his liver disease. An ultrasound showed that a large node had grown on his liver - most likely cancer, although we do not know definitively. We lost Bubba on June 11, 1997. He left a lasting impression in the relatively short time we had him. I believe his last year was probably one of his best - he truly blossomed and we miss his antics.
