Leave a bone for Missy Bea - (In Memory)

Nicknames: Bea, Bangles, Beagle, Bink

Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: November 4th 1987
Likes: Eating, Meeting new people, sleeping in, budda belly rubs

Pet-Peeves: Being ignored, Bubba stealing her rawhides

Favorite Toy: Tennis Balls

Favorite Food: Anything you'd eat, she'd eat.

Favorite Walk: Through the almond orchards, especially the ones just irrigated.

Best Tricks: Sitting up and then plunking down on her rear so she didn't have to work so hard to hold the position. She could sit that way for hours.

Arrival Story: We got Bea in Oct 1992. We already had a scottie, Ace, and wanted to get another one so he wouldn't be lonely when Mom started working full time. We found Bea listed in the local paper. She was a six year old female who was living in a travel trailer with her folks who were traveling consultants or something like that. Anyway, we took Ace with us to meet her and they hit it off right away - even if she did look kind of funny with her westie haircut - fluffy face with no beard or skirt. Her folks were happy that she would be with another scottie and with people that understand them. We took her home that night!

Bio: Bea was a very compasionate and intuitive dog. She was very sensitive to peoples moods and feelings. She wouldn't leave my side if she thought I didn't feel well. She could not understand people who would not acknowledge her and was determined to befriend everyone - especially her Grandpa Don. Bea had a recurring problem with bladder stones and when overly stressed would have mild seizures. In 1996, we removed what we thought was a histiocytoma from her armpit area. The lab report came back stating that it was a Mass Cell Tumor - grade 1. She went back to surgery to remove a larger section of affected skin and she never missed a beat until Jan 1999 when she started vomiting occasionally - once or twice a week. All the tests over the next few months revealed nothing significant. We took her to UC Davis for ultrasound and that is when several tumors were found. We lost Bea to what they believe was lymphoma a few weeks later. She was a truly great friend and we miss her.
