 Quick Bio:
Likes: People food, sleeping on the bed with Mom, jumping on visitors, chasing little sis Lucie, watching tv with Dad, begging to be let out 17 times in a row without actually doing anything when she gets outside, playing in the snow, and eating bugs.

Pet-Peeves: Baths, sprinklers, thunderstorms, big sis Daisy, having her nails clipped, getting brushed, the UPS man, other dogs in her yard, and Republicans.

Favorite Toy: An extremely sad-looking stuffed moose and a disembowled no-longer-squeaky chipmunk. And her 11-year-old human big brother.

Favorite Food: Cat food. Also, anything her people are eating, but particularly waffles, ice cream, french fries, and sandwich crusts.

Favorite Walk: Around her neighborhood or through the icky swamp behind her grandparents' house.

Best Tricks: Dancing on her back legs when the Detroit Red Wings score a goal, shaking hands (particularly if a treat is involved), begging, and looking extremely pathetic and neglected on cue.

Arrival Story: We went by the Humane Society of Huron Valley one day when we first started talking about getting a dog. Sophie was in with the bigger dogs, who all started barking and rushing the doors when we came -- except for her. She came up to me when I knelt by her gate and let me pet her nose. As we were leaving, she came through to the outside part of her enclosure and looked at us. It took us about a week to manage to get her home, but she was mama's girl from the first time I saw her.

Bio: We know she is mostly Australian Shepherd but suspect she may be mixed with border collie or something similar because of her big fluffy tail. We get remarks all the time on her unusual coloring -- she is a true blue merle, with no brown and very little white on her. It's quite a striking combination with her big chocolate brown eyes.
Sophie is a definite "velcro" dog. She has separation anxiety issues, probably from her time as a stray, and doesn't like to be alone. She follows me from room to room, and sits outside the bathroom door if I close it on her until I come back out.
