Arrival Story:
My partner and I knew we wanted to add to the family and opted for a dog. After many dog event visits (and many tears on my part) I told my partner to choose some dogs online and then I would select the ones I liked. Luca was one of them and he was at a shelter about an hour away from us. We went to visit him and it was love at first sight!

The shelter had said he was an Australian Sheppard / Akita mix but noticing nothing of a Sheppard, my brother did some research and told us "Uhhhh, I think he's an Australian Cattle Dog"!!

Boy oh boy! I have put mum and papa through a rollercoaster of emotions...

We met each other on a Saturday afternoon but unfortunately they could not take me home because I needed to get neutered (doing my part...helping the overpopulation) and microchipped. I also came with Kennel Cough! So right off the bat mum had to shove pills down my throat.

I went to my new digs and loved it! HUGE backyard and lots of attention. I did visit my new vet, though I had to wait outside because of the Kennel Cough and got a clean bill of health. However, 2 days later I all of the sudden threw up and became instantly lethargic. Mum and papa got very scared and took me to the emergency vet and did some tests but nothing came out so they thought it was something I ate ( I put ANYthing in my mouth). Mum said "if you're not okay tomorrow , you're going to the vet".

Sadly, the next morning I was not better and was taken to the vet. Mum was so nervous because my symptoms resembled "Parvo". The vet did a test, a BAD test where they stuck something - well, you know, and it was a low positive of Parvo. Immediate attention was required and mum and papa said "do whatever you have to do".

The next several days were filled with sleepless nights, tears, frusturation and worry but they tried their best to keep strong for me. Everyone at the vet took very good care of me and now look at me!?!?! I am in tip top shape and drive mum and papa KERAZY!!!!! You can see a pic of me with my IV owie.

Parvo is evil and mum wishes more people were made aware of this awful disease.
