Arrival Story:
When it became apparent that Ike the GSD couldn't go to work with me any longer, we wanted him to have company at home. Decided since we had bought one dog, rescuing one would be the only way to go. My husband went to pound day after day, looking for the right dog.....Ruby caught his eye, and so he stopped to visit her for 3 days in a row.....she was so well behaved and quiet.....on her last day, he brought her home, and we've loved her to pieces since. This is the happiest, friendliest, kindest dog I've ever known....two of her breeds....Rottie and Pitbull, have been misaligned by the press, and virtually destroyed by bad breeding, in my opinion.....I've never known a dog so loving towards children......if she sees a child a block away, her tail starts wagging, and she heads that direction. She's kind to other dogs, and her kitty.....and friendly to anyone who comes to our house.....she's also the smartest dog I've ever had the privelege to be owned by.

Bio:
Where Ike was a nerd, Ruby was a worldly woman.....she'd seen the sights of the world, and introduced him to the neighbor's garbage, taught him about leaving the yard to see the world, how much fun it is to tear up lawn furniture. She was a handful at first.....but she's an exceptionately smart and food motivated girl, and after a couple of months, she settled in like she'd always been here. I'm sad to say, that RubyAnne crossed to the bridge last Saturday morning after a brief illness.....She was the sweetest, kindest dog I've ever owned.....and I miss her so much. She had a stately manner......Ruby seemed so wise......and she had so much dignity about her. The worst part of my day, is coming home at night. No matter how elderly RubyAnne got, she could still do a mean happy dance when I arrived....
