Arrival Story:
My daddy and mommy had been talking about getting a puppy for years, but it never seemed to be the right time. Mommy grew up with Chi's and loved the breed and my daddy's idea of a dog was a golden or a lab. The nice lady daddy works with had 2 Chi's and was crazy over them. He couldn't understand how. She told him that the breeder she got them from had just delivered a litter. Before my daddy knew what was happening they were getting the number and an appointment to meet the me and my sister at 4weeks old. I never saw anyone fall so hard so fast for such a little creature. He was hooked. I was lucky that they choose ME, but could not decide on a name. They talked about all your typical Chi names and decided that because of my greyish color and the fact that I'm always at under foot, I became their SHADOW!! Daddy wanted to give me a proper name so to him I am Sir Shadow-Blu McGregor Flood. He thought it sounded regal. I think it's just way too long, but he's the daddy and it makes him happy :)

Mommy Made a Song ~ Just for ME!!

Every morning we wake up and when mommy is done getting washed and dressed she looks a me and Chelsea, says "you ready?" grabs Chelsea and we go...... to the stairs and she sings..

(to 'Leader of the Pack')

He's the leader of the Pack,
He's got the fur all down his back,
He's got a tail he likes to wag,
Like he's waving his own flag.

He's got the poofy pantiloons,
and they look like big ballons,
with 4 fuzzy little paws, that match
his fuzzy little draws

I love that mommy sings to me everyday and that she waits
for me to lead us down the stairs. It makes me feel SOOOO
IMPORTANT!!! She doesn't have a special song for Chelsea
so I know I'm the special one.....SSSHHHHH, don't tell Chelsea.

Loosing my Best Friend!!

It's been sooo long since I was able to get to my diary. So much has happened in my little life. I met my gramma from Florida when she came to live with us at the begining of March. I was afraid at first 'cause she sat in a funny chair with BIG wheels!! Daddy said she was staying and he was right. I waited for her to leave everyday, but nothing.

She was very nice to us though. Chelsea was afraid of the big wheels and wouldn't make friends like me. I LOVE EVERYONE! We became good friends and I loved to be with her everyday. We snuggled together while mommy and daddy were at work. She would pick me up and ride with me in her wheelie chair...OH FUN!! Sometimes she would share her banana or apple with us (more me 'cause Chelsea didn't want to take food from her). I love food...I live for food...'specially people food...YUMMY. Mommy had told her it was ok for some things though so I guess it wasn't really getting anything bad for us. I loved that she was with us all the time.

In May, mommy started being home with us too!! I didn't get it, always home, never gone to work. Daddy said she got "laid off" from her job thingy. I don't know about laid off, I lay on...everything!! BOL
She started taking my gamma out places without us. I want to go for a ride too!!

Then one day when daddy was home, some men in a big truck with lights came and took my gamma for a ride in a bed. Mommy put me and Chelsea in her room so we couldn't see what was going on, but I didn't feel good about it. I cried to get out, but they didn't let me out until the men left. I looked for my gamma in every room. Her wheelie chair was there, but not her!! I see all her things. Mommy and daddy seemed very sad. It seemed like forever, but she never came back. Mommy and daddy started taking her things out. Did she move out?? Why did she leave without saying good-bye to me?? Did I do something wrong?? I am sooooo SAD!! I lost my bestest friend!!! Daddy tried to explain that my gamma had gone over Rainbow Bridge and is being taken care of by all my pup friends who are there. I MISS HER SO BAD!!

I was sad for a long time, but mommy and daddy have helped me move on. I loved the time we had together and will never forget my gamma. I like to lay in her reclining chair all the time and remember her.

My Day at the SPA

So, Memorial Day weekend was not just a time of remembrance. It is also a time to clean and primp, or so mommy thinks.

Sunday morning mommy got me and Chelsea's things together *jumping up and down* 'cause were going on an outing!!! I'm so PUPCITED!! It's been soooooo long since we all went out together as a family. It usually means we go to see my Grammy and to one of the stores that allows pups like us!!! I cannot wait *wags tail feverishly*, I haven't seen my Grammy in a long, long time!!
We went to Pet Smart to see all my old friends *thinking, and hopefully to get a TOY*. We walk out back and OMD, NOT AGAIN!! We go through the door where Melissa works!! Mommy, I don't want to be here!! Not the nails again!! Can we please go home now???? *BIG SIGH*

Mommy handed me (ONLY ME) over to Melissa. She took me to the bench.......oh here it comes........AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!! She's brushing ME!!, then she clipped ME, and THEN SHE GRINDED MY NAILS!!!!. By this time mommy and daddy had gone, while they were gone...she took me out back and gave me a bath, blow dried me and then cleaned my EARS!!!! OMD, OMD, I hope there is NO MORE!!! Finally I got the brushing again and a spray of stinky stuff. She topped it off with a bandana. *ears back in disgust*

Daddy came to pick me up and was so happy about the way I looked and smelled. I’m glad he liked it ‘cause I like to smell like DOG!! This Spa thing is not for me at all!! We got into the car and he took me to see my Grammy. She was sooooo happy to see me. After I got to snuggle with my Grammy, it kinda made me forget about the SPA. I so hope we don’t do that again!!
