The tennis ball, the cat, his mom, hunting dummies, his "squirrel, and lately horse turd kicking, and best of all swimming.
Going to bed; taking time to eat...being petted/stroked on the head
Dave the cat, his stall ball, and his squirrel.
Natural Balance rolled dog food, chicken jerky from Costco
Crawls, then plays dead. Speaks.....and is generally a very funny guy.
When my old GSD was going down hill, I started passively looking for a breeder. When my old guy died, I just couldn't get a pup.....I wasn't ready yet. But one of the breeders I'd been in contact with had an extra pup in a reserved litter.....and asked me if I might like him......one look and it was all over.
We lost Moj on July 19th, 2012....his hips were just too painful for him to carry on. Love him forever.

Mom says it's official, I'm an adult dog now.......but all I really want to do is play......mom got me a squirrel.....it's like a frisbee, but it has legs....the only bad thing, is I can't tear it up.....it's tooooo tough......
Mom says I'm the most social GSD she's ever been owned by.....the only one she's ever known among her dogs who loves doing the meet and greet.......(all I'm really looking for is someone to throw my squirrel, or kick my soccer ball).....but if that's what being social is, then I guess I'm "The Man!!"
Mom left me and Molly with a babysitter for a whole week this summer......she was going to put me in a kennel, because she couldn't find anybody she trusted enough to watch out for us.....but then she thought about our aunt Clair, who was home from college. Boy, did I have fun with her (most everybody I know is over 40, and they don't like to play all day)....but Clair took me on hikes, and we even floated the river.....I got to see a lot, and do a lot......I was super happy when mom got home, but I kinda miss aunt Clair.
Well, that's about it for this birthday.....

MoJo turned one year old on July 29, 2005.....and as in all my "kids", he's different than any GSD I've ever had......different than any dog I've had.
When I got him at 7 weeks, he wouldn't even follow me.....he was off on his own.....I thought, well that's strange, I thought ALL puppies this age followed....he is also non-affectionate.....there will be no kisses, no petting allowed on the head, no hugs......no laying his head on my knee with long looks of adoration from this boy.....Putting a dent in Moj's independence was a long process....and is still an ongoing one....the solution?? Having more fun together than he can find on his own....so we've had a year of me being so fun, I've lost 10 lbs.....and spend at least 3 hours a day being with him exclusively, working on obedience, playing with the tennis ball, swimming, retrieving dummies, and just a little bit of frisbee (he isn't old enough to take the stress in his joints). He's amazingly quick to learn obedience, and does it with a happy attitude. When we are playing, and I say...."ok, let's put that away"....he carries whatever he has to the outside toy box, and drops it in....Not bad for such an independent guy. He also has a fetish for weeding, and helped me all summer doing the pasture.....really....he pulls his own weeds!!
He's grown into a big boy, too.....when I took him in to get his heartworm meds, the first of May, he weighed 99 lbs at 9 months....the first of June, he was 103, at 10 months.....He stands 29 1/2 inches at the whithers.
Though I was leery in the beginning, I can say that after a year, I think Moj and I have turned the corner on turning his independence into a good thing, and not him being "a dog unto himself"......He looks forward to me coming home from work, and if there is to be a little affection it happens then.....he's also found that by following me around, there's a world of great things out there to do.
