Moo's Clues

A day at the beach...

This past weekend we took Moo with us camping over on the eastern shore. This wasn't as fun for him as it sounds, the camping "resort" we go to (Cherrystone) is so uptight and strict about pets. They provide a few very small dog walk ares and ebven in these the dog must always remain ion a leash. Also your dog isn't allowed anywhere on the camp ground unless walking from your site to a dog walk area, and I am serious these areas are maybe 15 feet by 15 feet. the worst part is the little dog walk area sits on the side of a huge meadow that is almost never used. When on your camp site the dog has to be chained up or locked inside a trailer. This camp grounds is right on the bay, but no swimming is permitted. So we loaded up the car and drove down to the local beach and had a great time, Moo had never tried swimming before and we were concerned about his safety, but I also wanted him to get to be comfortable in the water so we got him a life jacket. (I figure we can use it on the boat when we go) Once on the beach Moo let us strap him in to the jacket with no problem and then immediatly went full speed right into the water. He took to it like a duck and best of all he was not on a leash and had a great time!! His new nickname is Salty Dog.

"Is that a Dingo?"

Just recently some people have begun asking if Moo-Waah is a dingo. While I am not sure what he is, I am pretty sure he is not a Dingo, but you never know. Anyway the Dingo has been on the move lately. As the weather is getting warmer we are traveling most weekend to visit family and Moo loves to ride in the car and explore new places. We are sending him to doggy day camp for a week at the end of the month. I am hoping that being able to play with a group of dogs will socialize him some more. He never has problems with other dogs, but generally prefers to be with people. Lets hope he has fun!! and as Hank Hill told his dog Ladybird when he dropped her of at the kennel, "Be strong, the other dogs will be looking to you for leadership."

Time to grow

It has been awhile since I updated Moo's progress. Since my last update Moo-waah has grown and grown. He is finally finishing his teething so he is a lot more mellow. He has grown out of his crate and now sleeps on his bed next to our bed, and spends the day roaming the house or walking with my wife.

In January of this year my father passed away and we went to Hampton, VA for 10 days or so. In this difficult time Moo-waah was the greif counsler at large. He spent time with my step-mom and others in the family, and his antics certainly lightened the mood and brightened spirits. After only 6 months with Moo I can't imagine life with out him.
