Her glucosamine and chondroitin treats. I went away on vacation lamenting how her middle years seemed to be paining her, and when I came back I couldn't believe how she was leaping around like a puppy! My parents had started her on a regimen of the stuff.

Pet-Peeves:
Being teased with food, and the neighbor's energetic dog leaping back and forth over her when she's sunning herself in the backyard.

A furry, stuffed purple... thing.

Anything Merrick's, and Zuke's joint treats.

Anywhere, but she loves to play in the backyard with her beagle brother.

Best Tricks:
She is very good at sitting and lying down nicely. She will often do both without being asked if she thinks a treat might be forthcoming.

Arrival Story:
At a yard sale, my mother saw two dogs playing on the lawn and she immediately came out with, "Oh, what a cute dog!" She was embarrassed when she realized that could be seen as an insult and tried to correct it to "dogs", but the lady had already caught on. "You want her? She's free to a good home." I was around 20 then. We'd never been able to afford it before, but we made the decision to take the six-month-old puppy, and next week we came back to take her to the vet.

Bio:
Mom and I had always wanted a small dog, and Dad a golden retriever. Taffer was the perfect compromise.
