Arrival Story:
I had two mixed breed dogs before Quiggly came into my life. One was a Golden Retriever & Brittany Spaniel mix named Levi, the other was a Sheltie & Brittany Spaniel mix named Sandy. Sandy was my first four-legged child, she lived till she was 13 years old. Levi lived till age of 12. The time approached before their passing, God whispered to me, saying that I will be saying good bye to them soon and both in the same year. This was shocking and sad to hear, but in few months Levi's health detierated and went to the Rainbow Bridge. Three months later, Sandy had several strokes and went to the Rainbow Bridge. Once again God spoke to me. This time, He asked me what I would like to have for my next dog. I was surprised! God asked "me" what I wanted? I took this seriously and gave it a long thought... three months... this was not a question to answer lightly. Somehow, Beagle became my answer and answered God. Time went on and no beagle was in my life. I decide I was gonna help God. I looked for a beagle, none was to be found or so I thought. I was ready to adopt a Jack Russell terrier .. but was rejected by the people of that organization. I was crushed, I wanted another four-legged kid.. have been with one or another since my life began. I had to go for an errand one day, one of my daughter needed some fish supplies and made a stop at a pet shop. There was this Newspaper type of magazine on the store's counter, one for animals needing homes. I looked through it briefly and came upon an add for Beagle Rescue... "hey! this may be my answer!" I called them once we got back home. They informed me that there was a beagle needing a home, close to my area and was just listed. I called the lady who was being a Foster Mom to this beagle. Sharon stated that Quiggly was needing a furever home and would like to meet with me. She interviewed me and decided I could adopt Quiggly. I had asked how much I was needing to pay. Sharon said "Nothing, because all the fees that she had paid for Quiggly's care was all done before she listed with the rescue. I was speechless, because I would not have been able to pay $100.00 at that time. Next thing I knew that in few weeks, Quiggly became my beagle. I thanked God for his gift and apologised for being impatient. Quiggly was two years old then and came with her papers and her puppy pictures! Her registered name was "Quiggley's Girl from Down Under". Interesting! we decided that "down under" had to be under blankets! Quiggly loved to be under blankets to snuggle and all blankets were hers.. so The Empress said! Quiggle lived to the age of 13... she had congested heart failure. She went to the Rainbow Bridge on November the 9th, year 2006. I miss her dearly!
