what a week..
last weekend mom and I went to a very interesting place. A holy place! No kidding. Our friend Becker showed us around at a temple. We saw lots of beautiful lights and mom learned a lot about another religion. That was interesting. We do this a lot - visit churches, temples of all kind, moschees, etc and learn about different kind of religions. It's interesting. Sometimes we are invited to join a service. It's great.
Then we went to our pal to make Holiday cards. Becker's non furry brothers helped mom to make them. That was great help :o)
We also went to our favorite doughnut store, which is called Psycho Donut. What a fun place :o)
We also spent time at the shelter, where mom and two dogs were filmed for a movie! She had to do some obedience with one dog and walk around with another :o) That was fun. Once the movie, documentary is out, we will let you know!
We supervised the whole thing very thoroughly.
A few days later, dad, a friend of ours, mom and I went to the ACC holiday party at the City Hall. It was very nice. Mom even wore a partly self made cocktail dress! Can you imagine? She looked pretty in it.
Mom and I participated in a photo contest and almost won, but another dog and his dad took the lead at the end. That was cool since we voted for them, too. The whole evening was fun. I really enjoyed hanging out there. At some point we went to check out the Christmas tree in the entrance hall. What a beautiful tree. The ornaments were paper cranes with wishes on it just like the ones Sadako Sasaki made in the process of fighting her cancer.. Sadako lost her battle, but she folded 1000 cranes before her death. These cranes still exist. Beautiful. We went to visit her statue and her cranes in Japan a few years ago. Very moving..
Again a few days later we went to an adoption event at the State building here in SF. We met with Fiona Ma. We adopted most animal out that day!! Mom did the "PR work" and made sure photos were taken. Also mom did lots of chatting with some of the humans there. That was good. We can't wait for the next event!
Then the drama unfolded. Mom, dad and I had tickets to go to NY for a week. Dad is invited for a talk. Once his talk was over, we wanted to spend time in the city and meet up with some of our friends there. We even wanted to meet up with the East Coast SDs..
Jojo and a friend of ours wanted to stay home at our house. Our friend was planning to move in with another friend and spend her time with Jojo. All was set and prepared, the house blitz blank and the suitcases packed. Dad set the alarm clock so we could get up in time.
Sure enough no alarm clock rang and no Jojo got up for her breakfast dance!! This never ever happens in our house. Every morning, just like clock work, Jojo gets up at the same time and starts her musthavebreakfast routine. This time she slept and woke up, when mom rolled out of bed......
We overslept! Like really overslept.
Long story short. Mom and I are not going to NY.. We missed the plane, which was very upsetting since we live 5 min from the airport!!!!!!
On top of that there was absolutely no other flight for the next few days. The guy at the counter spent 30 min trying to do the best humanly possible to upgrade us, find another flight and airline even to get us there....... Nothing. Not even first class. He put us on the stand by lists, but even with Hendrik's status we were 10th in line on overbooked planes with waiting lists of about 20+. Horror. Why do they do that overbooking shit? Either give those open "overbooking" seats away to people, who buy tickets, or don't. It's challenging to find two seats for standby anyways..
Well, we ended up switching Hendrik's flight to Tuesday til Friday. Luckily he got a good seat there.
How sad.. After some sobbing (mom), we eventually drove back home. Jojo was happy, I got her breakfast, and mom and dad some early lunch.
I am sure we can take a trip next year..
What now? Mom and dad had a great idea.. You know that Muf's and Fritz's family is doing a road trip right now? They left the day before we were suppose to leave. Unfortunately our dog swapping plans did not work out this year, which is a long story. Muf and Fritz ended up being boarded. Muf hates it. Fritz doesn't care. He goes with the flow..
We got in the car, drove across the bridge and picked them up! Wow, that was absolutely awesome :o) They were so so so so so happy to see us and so were we. Fritz could not stop doing the zoomies, which looks ridiculous given his size and awkwardness ;o)
After lots of zooming we all got in the car and drove over to the Point Isabel. We spent all afternoon there. It was beautiful. Jojo was happy with her ball and some occasional dogs to say hi to, Fritz loved playing with me and his ball and Muf was busy socializing left and right :o) Dad and mom talked and walked and really did not care a whole lot about what we were up to. Well, you don't have to, cause we just walk along. What a great time, the weather was perfect and the dogs were all in a good, cheerful mood.
Now we are all home and everyone is happy. Kind of like an unexpected happy ending :o)
Here a few pictures mom took over the week. Just click on the gray link and enjoy:

Leave A Comment | 2 people already have Learning about other Faiths was the way Mum and Dad brought us up.
Hate is born of ignorance and entrenched in dumb stupidity. Everyone can learn... SO glad you had fun and enjoyed the time.
The Cranes... I have only ever seen pictures of them... your pics were BEAUTIFUL.
Some things were meant to be... and missing the flights was destined... Muf needed you !
The overbooking is scandalous.. but its also the week before Christmas and I doubt there are any spare seats to anywhere ! But... another day another time.
Really loved all the other pics too.
Love and Hugssss Wow! Sounds like y'all have been very busy! Happy Holidays!
