This morning the humans met up with a friend and a friend of hers in a cafe for breakfast. Mom told us that people there were very hostile. Mom and dad got there first and after a bit of a wait they managed to get a table for four. The place was crowded! Not two minutes after they sat down trying to figure out what they wanted to eat, people started harassing them about the two empty chairs. Two min!! That was rude. Then dad went to order and when he came back, a lady was bitching about mom and dad sitting at a table for four and about a toddler, who sat in a chair instead of on someone's lap. These complaining people were totally off. We have never encountered such rudeness in a restaurant or cafe. You know, you want to eat at a crowded place - bring time! After ten min into waiting (which we think is a totally legit), dad offered one of our chairs to the table with the toddler, they needed one more. Also another lady was looking for a spare chair and mom picked her to take it. She was nice. She and her son together sat on it. The complainers were outraged about that. They came way after the lady with the toddler and the woman with her son! But constantly someone complained about something in regards to the seating arrangements people had. There was absolutely nothing unusual about how people sat. They were squeezed together, trying to make room for incoming fellows. These complainers were not nice.
Sometime we wonder.....
Eventually our friends came, we got chairs and had a splendid time. The food was good, too :o)

After breakfast mom and dad came to pick us up. I was so happy to get into the car. Boy have I been bored since surgery. We drove across the bridge and to the vet. The vet people always call me "momma". They say I am such a momma dog :o) I think I am *sigh*
Jojo and I got tons of treats before the tech came to pick me up. yum. They pulled my drainage out and checked my incision. They were very happy with how everything looked like and how well I take care of myself. I think the vet did a fine job stitching me up, knowing what a bouncy ball I am ;o) Also the skin has to "shrink" still. Right now there is some extra skin from all the space the growth left.
Then we saw one of the weekend vets, who came out to share the biopsy news for the spongy mass. I got cancer. It is a malignant mammary gland carcinoma. On Monday we will talk to our regular vet to discuss what we can do from this point on. The vet says that as long as it is not spread, we can work with it.
Let's see what happens on Monday. One day at a time.

After the vet visit we drove over to the Cesar Chavez park for a walk. I am cleared for walking. We took a nice loop along the water and into the park. The weather was fine, just very light rain. The walk was wonderful, boy did I miss my walks and meeting other dogs. We met one :o)

Finally we drove over to Trader Joe's for some errands, which I was not allowed to do with mom *huff*. Once done, we drove over to a store where dad had to get something and mom and us went to the PetClub!!! How cool!
Jojo and I rock.......... we walked in the door and some of the people we met on the way said things lile "awwwwwwwwwww", and "ohhhhhhhhhh", and "you poor little girls", or "awwww, you are injured". Boy was that great, they saw my incision and Jojo's naked butt and fell for it. They offered us so many "we are so sorry for you sweet little girls"-treats, they pretty much replaced a meal ;o) Mom bought so many chew treats to help me with the boredom and make Jojo happy.

Back home we got one of the everlasting chewies, which was supposed to be everlasting....................... yeah... for Jojo it was everlasting since she was on the hardwood floor and could not get a real grip with that chew thing. It kept popping out of her mouth, out from inbetween her paws, flying through the kitchen ;o) She was busy figuring out how to eat that thing. I am smarter than Jojo, though. At first the same things happened to me and my chew treat, too. But then I grabbed it, walked over to my pillow, pushed it into the pillow, held it down with my feet and then chewed it. Therefor it was not everlasting for me. Only 5 min. Jojo's lasted 30 min.

Then mom did the icing and now we are asleep. What a fantastic day compared to all the boredom there was before today.
Mom said that all is going to be ok.
The cancer diagnosis saddens the humans, but we expected it. We will see where it goes. Right now it goes toward dinner time ;o)

Take good care you all..

Jolanda it is sad how rude humans can be. My mom says those kind of people are just unhappy and it is sad.
We are sorry to hear about the cancer but as you said it was not unexpected. We know everything will be okay. My mom said that we will make you smile next month. I know the trick to eating slippery things also. Maybe we should tell jojo sometime. We are glad you got to get out and do something today.

Jolanda, you tell your mom and dad to come up here (and bring you and Jojo) because people are nicer...plus restaurants aren't that crowded. See that's a good reason to visit your friends.
Belle and I are sending you good thoughts for quick healing. Ooof! Rethy

Wow! What a day. First, let me agree with you about how rude the people were in the restaurant. Second, we are so sorry about your diagnosis. We have been praying for you, you did say it wasn't unexpected- Here's hoping and praying for a complete recovery. Talk about treats! Don't you just love it when they seem to be able to replace a meal? That must have been good(tasting).

Lots of Love and ((((HUGS))))

We are so sorry to hear about that cancer, Jolanda, but as you said it is not so unexpected *sigh* We cross our thumbs that it is not spreading, and it is a good feeling that your nice vets seems to know what they do - and they are sensible, "momma" *giggle*
My cousin was been sicken with cancer and she takes some inconvenient ways, so that everything is going smaller and her health is coming back. This is a miracle, because with regular medicine and preparations she should have died last month, but she is going better every day. And I'm sure that God the Dog and every good vibration in the world will send you your right way to be healthy and fine again.
We love you and your family so much and send you all our best wishes and love

Some people are just not nice and momma said we should be sorry for them. Now, as to the cancer, we know that your parents were sorta prepared for this, but, we are all gonna keep you in our prayers that this has not spread and you will continue to be well. Smoochies and hugs for you and Jojo!

Hai Jolanda,
great that its not spreading and you need no chemo at all *bigstonefallsdownfromheart* (is there any english word for this german phrase?)! Have you and your mom respectively a plan for a following surgery or not? I remember she told me that this may be a need if some dog has more than one breast cancer, and a friend of mine which is vet told me that, too. I hope it will give a good way for you to stay healthy and in your positive vein *cuddles*
Today it was a sunny and warm spring day, so I spent the afternoon with friends in a playground, and it would have been very funny to have two nice acds, one red and one white, as our playmates around us :-)
Have some nice days with the Mufs and say Hello from B., G., and cuddles for your sister and mom and dad, too!
Helga
Oh, and what's going on with the chicken????
