So far the week has been good to us.
On Monday morning we were not really eager to get up as far as I remember. Mom was up, though and did some typing and cleaning the house and doing dishes and stuff. Around noon, Jolanda, mom and I got in the car, because we had to go to the vet. I had to go *dang* Jolanda went with, but only because of the cookies. Dad waited for us at the office :o) I like that.
We are super well behaved at the vet office. I figured that the less I fuzz, the faster I am out of there and the more cookies I get. Well, I always get bunches of cookies one way or another. Remember when we had this bad experience at the vet? Well, ever since mom lets the vet staff do everything in the room with mom together. She holds us and places us, etc. That is very soothing and makes life so much easier at the vet. I am good in the back room and easy to handle, too, but feel more comfortable and relaxed with mom doing the work. She is my mom and I know she will make sure all is fine. In Germany they don't take the dogs from you. They do all treatments in the room, except x-rays or surgeries.
Well, this time they were supposed to take urine from my bladder *yikes* Mom held me in her arms, I had my face buried in her side and mom cuddled me while they put a needle in my tummy. I held really still and did not even flinch :o) Then I jumped up and did the happy dance with everyone, got loads of cookies and even more snuggles. My sister (chicken) she was under the chair the entire time! Not once did she come to the rescue. She came out when the cookies were out. Unbelievable. They checked my urine and all was well. No infection and nothing no more. Good.
Then mom and us drove over to the Point Pinole. I love this place so much. Point Pinole was Jolanda's first hike ever after she moved in with us. We met John there with his Golden, who is 10 months old. She is a fine girl. We had a good time on the hike, met a few dogs, the Rangers, a snake and played with the ball. After the hike we said bye, and did some more hanging out in the park. A guy with his Pit came along. The dog had the coolest harness on ever. It was custom made. Really neat. The humans chatted a little and we furries hung out in the sun, doing nothing besides being content and at ease.
After many hours at Pinole, we drove back home. Dad had to work the night, which was sad.
In the morning mom took us on a walk, we said by to Jolanda and got in the car. We went to the BART station, where I found the right platform with no hesitation. I have been there once about a year ago, so I remembered. On BART, to our surprise, people were really friendly even thought it was rush hour traffic. We got a seat and nice smiles, friendly words.. Last time we took BART people were rude and inconsiderate. Well, this time it was fine. Good :o) We got off in Berkeley. I knew we were picking up dad from his lab! So I trotted ahead, headed for campus. Dad met us half way :o) The walk from this particular station is far, but our favorite.
I was really happy to see dad. I could smell his car even before he was with us. We had to go back to the vet to pick something up. I rushed in the door - I know very well whether I have to see the Dr or just pick something up :o) We met a really cute Mastiff pup in the waiting area. He was my size and only 3 1/2 months old! While we were waiting I had a fun encounter with a giant reptile. It liked me apparently. I liked him, too. He needed some shots. I had no idea that reptiles could be affectionate. Well, this one sure was. Wow. As expected I got lots of treats and a few for take out.
Then we drove home, picked up Jolanda and proceeded to a cafe for breakfast. The day was still very young. Breakfast was great :o) After breakfast mom, dad and us got in the car again and drove all the way to Crissy Field!! Boy, that was fun. Dad was very tired, but we kept him going with the balls. We walked for a long time and played the entire way :o) At the bridge we met a SAR dog. We learned that they were looking for the missing girl. They found her bike at the bridge.. Hope she is fine and hope even more that they will find her. There were more teams all over the Presideo looking for her. Sending out love and thoughts.
On the way back we stopped for some grocery shopping. Dad was already asleep in the car..
Finally we got home and hopped right into bed. Nice day.
On Wednesday we went on a morning walk and then stayed home. We were both tired from all the stuff we did for the last few weeks. Mom and Anya's mom drove to the new dogster office in the city. Anya really wanted to go say hi, which she did. Mom said that the building is kind of secure and it took "a minute" to get to their office. It's very different from how it used to be, mom told us..
And there are so many more people! Mom met a little dog by the name Phebe - she was cute and mom cuddled with her the entire time. Mom said that she missed us and needed to compensate ;o)
The morning was nice.
Mom dropped Anya off at home and came to pick us up quickly. We had to go to the Fort Fun and meet another pal for a walk. We met the person a long time ago, when mom found a collar and dropped it off at their place. Ever since we meet at the Fort once in a while and walk around. This time all three of us, the collar dog, too, had to sit, wait for mom to throw the ball and then minutes later go find it. That was no problem with 3 exquisite noses :D This is our favorite game ever. We did this for a couple of hours. The humans chatted and we searched.
Finally we were happy and at ease, ready to go home for dinner. On the way to the car we met this little girl, who held on to my collar so I could get her up the hill. She was sweet and gentle. I really liked her and walked very carefully. On TV she saw someone ride a horse, so she pretended to ride me and kept saying "go doggie, go!" and then she let out giggles and squeals.. *sigh* kids.....
Back home we got our dinner and decided to not get up any more :o)
This morning we had breakfast and our walk. Mom is getting ready to go to the shelter soon.
Tomorrow mom and Jolanda have to go to the dentist, because mom chipped one of her teeth *yikes*.
Have a good rest of the week everyone..
