Playing dead, he can pick the dog food cans out of a mixture of different cans, he can find his toys by name, he is also an excellent talker!
Arrival Story:
Dexter was at a pet store being sold as an owner surrender. Looking back, I know that probably wasn't true. He was supposedly brought in by his owner because the guy was moving to an apartment and couldn't keep him anymore. I would never buy from a pet store again- we as a family volunteer with a rescue group and there are soooo many awesome doggies out there in the shelters and rescues waiting for forever homes! He was 4 months old when we brought him home, and weighed 16 pounds. He is the best dog, a big 60 pound lap dog! He loves his "babies"- he is so gentle with them! He is very loyal, gentle, and loving. The kids would put clothes on him when they were smaller, he would just sit there and smile away. "Look at me!!" He has personality plus and is an excellent "talker." He knows his toys and family members by name. We couldn't have picked a better first dog. He is very much loved by his human family...and his doggie sister, Leila.

No more foster dogs have been here since Ozzy left. I am enjoying relaxing and just having that girl dog Leila to worry about. She sure is sneaky. She steals my baby Shelly all the time. Shelly is a stuffed turtle with a squeaker inside. He survived Ozzy so he is one tough turtle! Nothing new is going on. it has been really quiet around here lately.

Whew! There are some things going on here I really don't get. Mom wound up going and getting that little poodle from that place called the dog pound. He is staying here until Saturday, then he has a new home in Colorado to go to. Mom says he can't see very well, and really can't hear very well either. He spends a lot of time sleeping. Mom calls him an old man. He doesn't have very nice teeth, and his kisses are really stinky!! YUCK!! But he doesn't really do too much of anything, and he is away from that pound. I guess Idon't mind him staying here for a little while longer.
