Arrival Story:
We looked for Hidee for a VERY long time and then one day we saw an ad in the newspaper advertising female pups. So we made arrangements to see the puppies (which for us at the time was a 4-5 hour drive). When we arrived we were given the choice out of a litter of seven week old tan colored female pups or a choice of what was left over in a litter of 9 week old pups. In the litter of 9 week old pups, Hidee stood out because she was black. We chose her because she was so full of personality and energy. Her mommy is small, short bodied, black in color....while her daddy is small, but LONG bodied and a cherry colored with black streaks (brindle). As Hidee has matured she is looking more and more like her mommy in body style, and is actually opposite in color of her daddy....being black with cherry red highlighted streaks....some people think she is chocolate in color, but when she is out in the sun light her distinct brindle pattern comes out! Hidee's given name was "Rocket Girl". The way Hidee got her "new" name was on the way home we were trying to decide what to call her since "Rocket Girl" seemed so long....so on our way home we brainstormed some names. At first we thought we would call her "Blackie" or "Inky" but as we drove home we noticed periodically she would bury her head under my arm and fall asleep....I commented to my husband that she kept trying to "hide"....so with that we decided to call her "Hidee".
