The last picture on this page was taken 1/2 an hour before Sabrina's seizure.

Sabrina wouldn't come into my room at bedtime last night. She preferred to sleep in the family room on the wood floor near where I had been working on the computer. At 6am she came into my room and I heard her dog tags. I was so happy to see her standing. We walked slowly together, and she was so wobbly, across the house to her side yard so she could go out. She went out and just stood there. I couldn't make her move or go potty, or anything. I turned her around and we went back into the house where she followed me into the bathroom , like every other morning, so I could take my shower. When I was ready for work and it was time to go into the other part of the house, Sabrina would not get up. She could not stand or walk. I knew she had got worse and I was now very upset. I finally got her to her feet and she gave it everything she had to walk to by my side to the kitchen where she just threw herself on the floor. She just lay there, sometimes looking at me and sometimes with her eyes closed. I was frantic and called my neighbor. She came over and her daughter scooped up Sabrina in her arms and put her in my car. I couldn't get to the vet fast enough. I cried all the way to the vet. The vet tech came out to the car and carried her in the office for me. He laid her on the table and she didn't want to even open her eyes. It was like she was slipping into a coma. The results of the test from the day before had come in and her liver and kidneys were fine but the vet told me how this was neurological. The phenabarbatal she was on was not the cause. She appeared to have sustained neurological problems due to her siezures or possibly a stroke. He told me my options. I was so upset, I had her put on a fluid IV and left her in the hospital at the vet and went out to my car. I cried for an hour in the parking lot. My friend called me back to see how Sabrina was and then came to the vet and together we went in to see Sabrina. We sat on the floor next to her and Sabrina was laying on a pink soft blanket. Her eyes were closed and she was just slipping away. I couldn't let her lay there and suffer. I had her put to sleep and my neighbor and I sat by her side. She crossed very peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge. I will miss her so very much. My house and heart are so empty.
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of Heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge. When an animal
dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the
Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends
so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and
sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we
remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
Sabrina and Cindy are playing together again.

Well, lowering the dosage of her phenabarbatal to prevent the total spaced out, not able to walk, can't stand up, not asking to to go out, drugged out dog..........did not work out...Sabrina had a mild seizure this morning and is back on the full dosage of her meds. I hope she gets use to this and her tolerance levels kick in so she can at least walk without falling over.
