Likes: Julie is such a happy dog, loves to be with me anywhere I go, loves to be outside playing with her doggy pals, going for car rides, playing with all her many toys... Favorite Toy: Her Jolly Ball! Loves all sorts of stuffed toys, squeaky toys, balls, bones, etc. Favorite Food: Pup-a-roni's like her Guardian Angel Sister Sable Arrival Story: Julie came into my life in July of 2004. I had lost my beloved Heart Dog, my Sable, in June 2004 and was grieving badly, yet knew I needed another fur baby in my life. Not to take Sable's place, but to have her own in my heart. Julie picked me out when I went to see her for the first time at 4wks of age, and I brought her home at 8wks of age in August 2004. Bio: Julie and I have had a wonderful time since that day in August. We compete in AKC & NADAC events for fun. Along the way she's taken me to 2 RAE (Rally Advanced Excellent) Titles, a CD (Companion Dog), an NAP (Novice Agility Preferred), a CGC (Canine Good Citizen), an NAC (Novice Agility Certificate) and an HPN (Hoopers Novice Title) in NADAC (North American Dog Agility Council). Julie has an elbow issue from a puppyhood injury, so we've retired from Agility and have started Tracking. She passed a Herding Instinct Test in April of this year (2010) so we'll be looking into that as well. As long as she has fun, I have fun. She's my heart. Mom and I keep busy most of the time, so I don't often get a chance to update my diary. Cousin Smiley and Uncle John are soooooo much better at this stuff. Anyway, I've done lots and lots of things since my last diary entry. Let's see.... mom and I like to compete in doggy events, so last year we went to Obedience Trials and Rally Trials. I like Rally MUCH better then regular Obedience. In Rally, mom can talk to me the whole time and tell me how I'm doing. That makes me feel special and I just love seeing her smile and laugh, so I do really good in it. I try to enjoy regular Obedience for her sake, so last year I did earn my Companion Dog (CD) title for her. Mom caught on and told me I didn't have to do any more in Obedience, that we'd stick with Rally so we could both enjoy the classes! YipYipYipeeeeeee! Back to Rally we went and I quickly earned my Rally Novice (RN) and Rally Advanced (RA) titles! This year we moved up to Rally Excellent and I earned my first 2 legs on my Rally Excellend (RE) title in April. This month we're going camping at a Rally Trial and mom and I are entered in 3 classes. Hopefully I'll finish my RE title for mom and we'll start on the highest Rally Title, RAE (Rally Advanced Excellent). That's the hardest to get 'cause you have to show in 2 classes per trial, Rally Advanced and Rally Excellent, and have to qualify in both of them to get a single point towards the RAE Title! We need 10 RAE points to get that Title. It'll be fun as it means lots of outings with my mom!!
I also got mom to start taking me to Agility classes. We get together with a small group of friends: me & mom, Auntie Barb & Mikey, Auntie Dianne & Max and Auntie Linda & Callie. Auntie Linda & Callie are already really good in Agility, they've earned titles and all, so they've been teaching the rest of us the ropes. Since there are several associations aside from AKC that hold Agility Trials, mom went ahead and registered me with them so we'd have lots of options of where to go. Last month we went to our first ever Agility Trial held by NADAC (North American Dog Agility Conference) and I had so much fun and earned my first leg on my NADAC Novice Agility title! YipYipYipeeeee!
In between all this Rallying and Agilitying, we have fun at home playing and taking care of all sorts of stuff. Mikey keeps me pretty busy, he's such a puppy still! Anyway, I hear mom outside so I'd better go see what she's up to.
Mom has kept me busy these first 2 yrs of my life, and I love it and her. I'll try to write more, but keeping tabs on mom is a full time job and it's sooooo much fun to be outdoors vs. sitting at a computer!
Anyway, my cousin Smiley came down this past weekend along with his dad. We took our people to a beach near Jacksonville Florida on Sunday and had a blast playing in the surf!
It was so good to see Smiley again, he's the bestest cousin a puppy could ever want.
