Favorite Toy: a big canvas snake Favorite Food: chicken Favorite Walk: anywhere Best Tricks: sitting before food Arrival Story: Henson is a sweet border collie mix rescued from a shelter in GA. Henson was just pulled from the shelter before euthanization. Henson is a border collie mix, about 2 yo, neutered, utd on shots, 39 lbs now very thin. He came to us painfully thin (thinner than when we first saw him) bc we were told he was bullied by the other dogs in his shelter cage and shoved out by them when food came. So he is malnourished but is slowly gaining and looking better every day!! He should be about 50-55lbs filled out. Bio: He is very polite and affectionate with his foster humans, and absolutely stunning, even when looking a little worse for the wear. He listens well already and walks great on a leash also.
He has been staying in a room by himself to start off, and has had no accidents! He is large and we did not want to crate him, esp coming from where he is coming from. So he has large area to himself and he has been enjoying the relaxed environment and freedom of having a yard, people and dogs to play with, and food to himself.
After some TLC, Henson would love to go somewhere where he gets exercise, and has an active family/individual. Maybe he would even be a good agility dog! He is not a typical bouncing off the walls border collie; he has a distinguished, calm way about him; but of course he loves to run and go for walks! He is smart too, you could train this guy to do about anything.
