Birthday: January 1st 2008 Arrival Story: My name is Lola! I was purpose bred for research, but after I arrived at the laboratory, they discovered that I have a heart arrhythmia which disqualified me from studies. It should pose no problems for me as a housepet, so the laboratory asked CBR-East to help find a home for me! I also have some type of dermatitis on my belly, so CBR-East's veterinarians will help us clear that up and see if this is from allergies or some type of irritation from something used in the lab. Bio: I am only 8 months old and still have not grown into my ears! I am ADORABLE! I love all people and other dogs. I am only 12 lbs and I feel like a Gund stuffed animal when you pick me up! I'm so soft and tiny! Make no mistake, though, I'm no stuffed animal! I have a lot to learn about life in the outside world, and still need to learn about housetraining, cratetraining, walking on a leash, etc.! My favorite thing so far is curling up to sleep on someone's lap. :) I'll need someone to give me a little extra attention, and once we get more information from our veterinarians about my conditions, we'll post them here!
**UPDATE: LOLA IS BEING TREATED FOR DEMODEX MITES AND AN UNDERLYING BACTERIAL SKIN INFECTION. HER ADOPTION IS ON HOLD UNTIL WE CAN STRENGTHEN HER IMMUNE SYSTEM AND CLEAR UP THE DEMODECTIC MANGE AND INFECTION. THIS IS NOT THE CONTAGIOUS FORM OF MANGE - IT IS A RESULT OF A WEAKENED IMMUNE SYSTEM. WE CANNOT SAY WHEN IT WILL BE CLEARED AND SHE WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH TO SPAYED AND ADOPTED, BUT WE HOPE IT WILL BE SOON! Click here to read about Demodex mites and mange. I've Been On Dogster Since:
