Arrival Story:
We were a 'rescue' family. God brought Pepper into our lives and rescued us! My husand and I had been talking about getting a dog for the longest time (since my Sheltie named Gertie died over 2 years ago). We couldn't quite decide what to get ...hmmm....a registered dog, a dog known for its intellect (like Gertie), certainly NOT a long haired dog (we were getting too old to bathe & comb such a long haired dog as our Sheltie), and definitely NOT a yapper. We prayed about it, thought about it, looked at dogs. Then one day - while on a visit to our grandmother's, a dog darted out in traffic across the street from us and we (being animal-adorers) had to stop & help the people trying to catch it. (We thought it was their dog.) That little black 8 pound thing gave everyone a run for its money and before it was all over with, several cars and people on foot had joined in the chase! 3 little boys standing on the corner made the final catch though - along with a couple of nice ladies in a red van. Turns out it was nobody's dog! (Or so we thought) So, we gave the ladies in the red van our business card & asked them to call us if they did not want the 'stray' so we could help find the owner(s). Before we even got back on the road, they had pulled up beside us and handed him over. He was shaking & scared & very well groomed with no sign of ever having a collar. So we tried our best to find his owner & finally decided after a reasonable time of looking that he must be ours. God rescued us from our indecision and just handed us over a long-haired, intelligent, semi-yapper that is our pride and joy and the love of our lives! He's actually very quiet, but can get to yapping if someone he doesn't know is coming too close for comfort. Once he knows they are on the up and up, he is quiet as a mouse.
Bio:
We don't exactly know his age, but used the vets best guestimate & gave him our grand-daughters birthday (save a year or two)

Hi!
My name is Pepper, but I have LOTS Of nick names - so many that my folks didn't have the room for them all!
I've been tagged by Sassy! SO, I am sharing 7 fun thing about me and tagging 7 of my furrends and letting them know with a pmail!

1. I have a froggy that has now become my favorite playtoy!
2. I LOVE snuggling first thing & last thing in the morning with mommy & daddy.
3. Mommy taught me how to 'lay' at the table when they eat in order to get a little treat...people food - YUM!
