We found Chip on Petfinder.com.
He had just about worn out his welcome at his previous owners home. Because of his size and energy level he spent the majority of his time outside. (He's 28 inches at the shoulder and goes 130 lbs.)
I wanted a Lab because we spend a lot of time on our boat in the summer.
I called his owner and arranged to meet him during her lunch break. I arrived early and in the yard was the biggest Lab I had EVER seen. I thought at first he was a Great Dane mix.
When she arrived she told me that her husband said the dog goes before the sun sets, or he goes to the pound.
Well, 45 minutes later, he went home with me.
He bonded to me instantly, and is a velcro dog whenever I'm around.
Bio:
Although Chip is the most loyal dog I have ever owned, he is the dumbest. Hence the nickname Meathead.
He is like a kid with ADD/HD. In a controlled environment he listens very well, throw any distraction in the mix, and he reverts to puppy mode.
