I start by saying thank you for all my presents & best wishes for being one of the Diary Pics. We had little time to celebrate:
Sad day in the Smith household. We got up super early this morning because our neighbor's house was on fire and the events of the day consumed us until now. News crews just left our street and we find ourselves slightly shocked at the way things played out. Mommy had a hard time sleeping last night and fell asleep around midnight only to awaken to all of us barking around 2:30 a.m. Weird to think we woke her that early when the fire trucks didn't show til fifteen minutes (or so) later...seems we have a nack for detecting bad things early.
Anyway, at first we all assumed it was a simple house fire. When we awoke to the house fire in the wee hours of Monday morning mom assumed they were burning leaves and left them untended because we saw the neighbors working in their yard on Sunday afternoon. The evening news told a different story. Turns out the mother in the home was dead in her bed and the father was missing. SAD!
Mom did not know them but felt so very bad for (1) the loss of life and (2) the idea of someone thinking taking a life was the best way out. Granted we are still working on "unconfirmed information" we do know the wife was found dead in the home and the husband has been missing since. It could be anything really but, we wonder, where is he and why is he not home yet? We are pawraying for all of them. We ask you do to. Thank you.

Oh my doodness, Ginger...Whut an awful thing tu hab habben on yur stweet, sweet gurl. No one wants tu think da wurst, bud it duz sound kinda 'spicious tu me an' Momma :(
I know!! Mummy can't make herself shake the feeling of "the loss of life" at an house when she was sleeping so soundly. We know it took 5 minutes for the fire department/police to show up...we live moments away from the Fire Department and the Police Station so it is more suspicious that the house was "fully engulfed" when help arrived. Our family is a family that loves all living beings & experience extreme heartache when there is a loss of life...no matter what life it is. Now that I think about it, that may be why mommy was so very upset when I brought her the rabbit the other day. She gets very emotional at such things. Lately she finds herself struggling with the idea ppl can be so cruel and says to us (the furbabies) that she would rather be with us & daddy than most of the ppl that walk the earth. Don't blame her. We kill by instinct and ppl seem to kill for other reason that are, at present, unreasonable.
Thanks fur being such a wonderful furriend Zadie. Mommy really appreciates being able to converse with you!!
Oh MY! How very sad. I'll say a prayer for that family. :(
