Likes: Cleo likes to go to the dog park to play with other dogs and run after tennis balls. She also likes to look at the ducks at Meridian Hill park. Pet-Peeves: Cleo does not like getting a bath. Favorite Toy: Cleo is not a big toy dog. She will sometimes play with her tennis ball but she'd rather have a rawhide chewy than a toy. Favorite Food: Cheese! Or yogurt cookies! or doggie popsicles! or kibble! Actually Cleo likes pretty much anything she can get her mouth on. She is a hound afterall. Favorite Walk: Cleo loves walks. She is happy to go on a walk anywhere at any time but if that walk ended at the dog park it would probably be an even better walk than most. Best Tricks: Cleo is a slow trick learner. She can do sit and down and is starting to learn shake. Arrival Story: Cleo came to us from Homeward Trails animal rescue in Arlington, VA. Bio: Cleo was a rejected hunting dog who was badly neglected before being turned into a rural shelter in western Virginia or West Virginia. The rural shelter is a partner with Homeward Trails and HT brings animals from those shelters to the DC area where they have a better chance of being adopted.
Cleo had heartworm, mange, lyme disease and was about 40% under weight. With the care of the wonderful Homeward Trails volunteer, Cleo was able to fully recover and we adopted her in February of 2008. The Groups I'm In: FebrezeĀ® Pet Odor Eliminatorā¢, Scaredy Dogs I've Been On Dogster Since:
