My mom told me that this weekend I'm getting SHAVED! I hate getting groomed, but I especially hate getting SHAVED!!!! Her excuse is that me hair is so long that she can't stop it from matting, no matter how often she brushes me. OHHHHHHH but I HATE GETTING SHAVED!!!

Wow! Life has been really busy lately! I had fun up north, but that's way in the past. The first month of my mom's school year has really flown by! I haven't really been up to much, although sometimes I feel like I'm a bit neglected, since my mom has had school.

Sad news today....
One of my friends, Ty the collie, had to be put to sleep. He had bloat. He was for sale, and he was scheduled to go to a new home soon. He never had the chance. He was only 5 years old.

Up North

My family and me are going up north for labor day weekend. The only problem is... it's a LONG drive. Plus I always have to ride in the crate, while Jenny is loose in the car. I know if I behaved better in the car, they would let me ride loose, but I just get so excited! Anyway, up north is so much fun! I get to take walks through the woods and play in the lake! We also get to make friends with the other dogs up there. The only sad thing is, Smokey has to stay home... :(

Tell you all about it when I get home!!

Cows

I took Sam on a walk last night. Usually we go left, but I decided to go right instead. That route would take us past a cow farm. Sam was a bit crazy at the beginning of our walk, other people were out walking. When Sam decides he wants to do something, all you can do is plant your feet and hope for the best. By the time we turned onto the street with the farm, Sam had settled down and was walking calmly next to me. As we approached the cows, he pricked his ears but kept walking. When we were even with the cow pen, Sam stopped dead. He looked at the cows as though they were aliens. His expression was one of comical bewilderment. It took me a whole to convince him that the cows were nothing to worry about. :)

I got my dog Sam when I was 10. He has a lot of energy! If he doesn't get enough exercise, he goes
completely bonkers! He is bigger than a lot of aussies, close to 60 pounds. Walking him used to be quite an experience! Fortunately, he has called down quite a bit since we adopted our second dog. He is a real sweetheart, but sometimes he doesn't know his own strength!
