Arrival Story: I was searching for another dog and wanted a young male german shepherd, but not counting out any breed. And I found a great match. I filled out a application for a dog rescue in my area and saw this cute 10 month old puppy that was living in a foster home. He had been adopted once when he was a real young puppy but didn't work out due to young kids and him being nippy. So he went back to the foster parents. I've seen this dog before when he was a younger puppy at the doggie daycare where I work and saw how cute he was but nervous. And wished I could have had him at the time couldn't.
Then when I was searching for a German Shepherd on petfinder.com, I came acrossed him in a search and decided he was a good choice out of many many dogs. And this was hard for me as there are so many great dogs to choose from. And once I found out my application got approved, I contacted the foster parents right away and they came to a park so I could meet him and found out he was the dog I've seen before. And after thinking about it for a few days, I decided I wanted to adopt him.
I got him on Saturday(Aug. 23) and he's doing great! :)
He will have so much fun with my other dogs and lots of training to do. He already knows so much and is very well behaved. I will have tons of new pictures of him once he is over resting from being neutered today.
Bio: Major is a 1 year old German Shepherd/Doberman dog.
I adopted him and were having a great time already. I will be training him with positive reinforcement and much more. Major is a great, well behaved, and friendly dog that loves playing and being around other dogs and people. He enjoys car rides, toys, going to the park for walks, and much more. He now plays well with Liza and Radley who are my other dogs. Yay! :)
Today we took my 2 other dogs, Radly and Liza over to the other house where Major is living to see if they all got along. We walked Radly and Liza and then let them run around the yard for a bit. Then brought out Major and at first he barked because he wasn't aware the other two were out in the yard but then they walked past each other and sniffed. After awhile we let their leashes go and they ran around the yard together. I was so happy that none of them showed teeth or barked.
Then Liza and Major ran around and played together. Liza did play bows to him, it was so cute. After the rested for a bit, we took them on a little walk to see how they would do and they did great. So overall, it was a good first meet. Tomorrow were gonna do the same thing and take pictures this time.
