Arrival Story: We had been thinking about getting a dog for some time. I had been looking online through Pet Finder to see if we could find our dog. I had fallen in love with a Shepherd puppy named "Max" who was at the Animal Care and Control in Chicago. I was so excited that my boyfriend (now my husband) and I went down there in hopes of seeing "Max". When we got there, I was absolutely crushed to find out that he was no longer there. I was so sad that I started to cry. My awesome boyfriend felt bad that I was sad and suggested that we go to the Anti-Cruelty Society.
Once there, we waited for the doors to open. Finally, we went in and looked around. There were many great dogs, and I would've loved to have taken them all home! We couldn't seem to find "the" dog.
I got discouraged, and walked out of the adoption room. I was ready to go, but my boyfriend wanted to take one more look around. I waited while he went in. A few minutes later, he came running up to me and dragged me over to a run with a very frightened Shepherd. It was so scared, it refused to come out of the run. I was hesistant, but before I could say anything, he dragged me to another run that had a little Shepherd mix pup. Her name was "Confidence" and she was 7 months old.
My boyfriend really wanted to take her out to meet her. I was hesistant, because I was convinced that I wanted a boy dog. I finally agreed to take her out. At first, I just hung back and watched my boyfriend play with "Confidence". Then, after a few minutes, I decided to join in.
I knelt down in front of this little puppy and began petting her. All the while still being hesistant because she wasn't a boy. All of a sudden, she reared up, put her paws on my shoulder and licked me. Any and all hesistations melted away at that point. How could I say "no" to this little dog? I fell in love with her right away. Needless to say, we snatched her up very quickly!!

Bio: Lily has a little feline sister named Savannah. She is a year younger than Lily. They are best friends. At times Lily gets put in her place by her kid sister! She is a total ham... loves any and all attention. She's got some training issues that need to be worked on, but overall she is a very sweet dog!
