Arrival Story: (I'll let my mom write this part)
After our beloved KC went to the Bridge in August 2004, we knew we'd have to get another dog. We've always loved Golden Retrievers, and we knew Ruth would love to have a Goldie little sister. When we felt ready, we found a nearby breeder through the Golden Retriever Association, and it turned out they had pups ready to go in just a short time. We went to visit, and Emma found us. We brought her home on Saturday, November 6, 2004.

Bio: Born Sept. 13, 2004. Received her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification on Sunday, April 2, 2006. RN (Rally Novice) title earned on Friday, June 16, 2006. RA (Rally Advanced) title earned on Sunday, October 15, 2006.

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I wrote in my diary. Sorry about that!
My mom has been taking me to training class every week ever since I was just a little squirt, and I just LOVE it. As soon as I see my leash come out on Wednesday nights, I know where I'm going, and I get so excited - I just wiggle and whine all the way there in the car!
A few weeks ago my mom took me to something called a Fun Match. It was sooooo cool! There were all kinds of dogs there, including something called a Great Peeraneez - boy, they were BIG. But I liked them, because I like everybody.
First we went into a ring called Ral-lee. Mom and I did all kinds of fun stuff, sitting and heeling and turning all around, and she could talk to me and tell me I was a good girl. I must have been good, because Mom was really happy and we got a big ribbon and some other stuff. Mom said I got a purfict score, whatever that means. I was just glad I was a good girl!
Then we went into another ring and we started doing some of the stuff we do at class every week. But everything smelled so different and interesting, I just couldn't concentrate. Mom seemed a little frustrated, but she was laughing. Then I went to do my sits and downs and I nailed 'em! So, no problem.
Finally, I went to another ring where a very nice man had me do some stuff they called Et-i-ket. I don't know what that meant, but I wanted them to be my friends so I tried to behave really well. At the end, Mom left me with the man for what seemed like a very long time - I just watched carefully where she had disappeared because I just knew she'd be back. It was three whole minutes, can you believe it? An eternity!! But then my Mom came back, just like I knew she would, and the nice man said I was now officially a Canine Good Citizen. I don't really care about that Citizen thing but Mom was happy, so that was good!
Next month, my mom says we are going to do a couple of Ral-lee trials - the "real deal," she says. It sounds fun - especially if it's anything like that Fun Match, I know I will have a blast.
I may be getting to be a grown-up dog now, but it's still good to be the puppy.
I'll try to write again sooner this time!!!

Last night and the week before that, my mom and dad took me to the most amazing place - it was so cool I couldn't even have dreamed such a place ever existed.
There was this big room, with a lot of humans of different ages, but that wasn't the best part. All the humans had PUPPIES with them! Oh my goodness, so many cool looking and smelling puppies - and they looked so different from me!
Oh, and then my mom and dad started actually telling me what they wanted me to do, can you imagine? It was GREAT. Until then, things were kinda hit and miss around here. Now I'm starting to get the picture about what they really expect of me - what a relief!
There is this thing at "puppy class" (that's what mom and dad call it) called a Ramp. It goes up on one side and down on the other. The first time I got near it, I got a little scared, but now I want to climb it every chance I get. Last night there was something called a Tunnel and it was so cool! Some puppies were afraid of it, but I wanted to go through it over and over again.
My mom says this class is the beginning of my "Oh B D ens" training, wonder what that means. Guess I'll find out!
Life is good.
P.S. Since I've been going to class, I've also discovered there's this thing called "treats." Why didn't anyone tell me about treats before? Man, they're awesome.

Hey, my mom got an email that somebody wanted to be my pal, but there was no link to see who it was. Now she wants to get back in touch with that person, but there's no way to do it.
So, whoever asked to be my pal in the last few days, can you send us another message?
:-)
