Arrival Story:
Lola came to us through a woman who'd bought her from a breeder in poor condition. She had apparently been dripping with fleas, poor baby. But the woman felt so bad for her that she decided to buy her and get her out of there. Soon enough though it became apparent that Lola and their other dog did not get along. The other dog was aggressive toward Lola so they decided to re-home her. So she came home to us! We got her vetted right away and in good health. Bruce didn't quite know what to think of her but was very curious about a new friend who was just like him!

Lola is a little fireball for sure. She is quite bossy and sometimes it causes her "brother" Bruce to get a little sad. But we are working on that. Bruce is a cuddler where Lola is a little ping pong ball--not wanting to stay still for too long! She's a funny little thing though and a pretty smart cookie...she takes to training well. Overall I think Lola and Bruce truly like having the other around. And they sure can cause a lot of laughter here with all their antics!

Lola passed on to heaven on 4/16/15, just a couple days shy of her 7th birthday. She developed heart enlargement/failure late last year and despite medications it progressed rapidly. Lola brought joy into our lives the likes of which we had never known before her. She was so loving, calm, and such a Daddy's girl! She loved us with a fierceness that I only pray she knows how much we loved her back. Her passing has left such a hole in our hearts and family. Her fur brother Bruce is lost without her comforting presence. We are lost as well. The wonderful memories of her are plentiful and I only hope they sustain us until we meet again in Heaven.
