Arrival Story: We saw an ad in the newspaper about a found dog and so I contacted the people and ask them if we could have the dog if no one claimed him they said sure and the ad had been in long enought that if someone wanted to claim him they would already have called. They said come on out and pick him up. When we got there I said he was too big and my husband said he wanted him so we took him home with us. He had a brown marking on his face like a bandits eye covering and that is what we named him "Bandit". We have had him for 11 years this past June. Before my last child left the nest he was just one of our pets, but now since he and I are family he has gotten spoiled. When I started to write this he made his please help me whine..he needed to have his cover pulled over him so he could go to bed, He has never been sick a day except for his flea allergies he does well. If he only has one flea on him he chews himself like he is covered in them. But I give him his flea bath or else I spray him with some flea spray and he is fine untill the next flea hops on him and we do it all over again. He has been the best dog that I ever had and just think I almost did not get him. He is the love of my life and I hope that he out lives me because it would kill me to lose him...even though I know that he will be waiting at the rainbow bridge for me some day.
Bio: Bandit has a tumor around his dew claw and across his whole foot. He had blood work done to see if he could have surgery to remove a part of it and his liver levels are slightly high, so if I choose surgery he will need more blood work and also a biopsy too. Because of his age (13+) I really think it best to play a wait and see approach for now. They said that they could not remove all of it anyway and that it will just grow back.He is on Ultram and Novox (for pain and anti-inflamatory action). He can out run me right now and wishes to stay outside more than I would like (we live in a high rise on the 17th floor). He goes out at least 3 times a day and walks most of the 4 block area around our apt. complex and on really good days we go out 4 times & each time for at least 30 mintues). He was already spoiled and now even more so. I think as long as he is doing so well (with all of everyone's prayers) that he maybe able to live his rest of his life out. If he does not have surgery and his meds stop working then I will maybe arrange for his surgery or see how old he is then and decide. He has had a good life so far and I do wish to thank everyone who prays for him to continue the way he is untill his natural life span comes to an end.Thank you for your gifts and prayers....Carol
Forums Motto: He is a Pitbull in a Jack Russells body

He has black markings on his forehead and his ears. When he was younger he had a brown mask around his eyes. His coat is short hair. In the winter he goes out sporting his leopard trench coat when it is raining and in very cold weather he wears a dark purple fleece coat with a leopard scarf.
