Arrival Story:
I was looking over the page for our local animal shelter. On the "Urgent Rescues" page was a gorgeous Pit Bull/Dalmation mummy who had given birth to a litter of puppies at the shelter. All her puppies had been adopted, and she was still looking for a home. I couldn't stand to sit by and do nothing, so I called up my best friend. We talked to her mum into fostering Sanity, and we went to get her the day she would have been euthanized. My friends' mum wasn't too happy at first with how much San looked like Pit Bull. Even after having owned a very sweet one, she still didn't like them. We brought Sanity to my friend's house, where we let her play in the kiddy pool they had set up for their Jack Russells, and she took to taking branches off the tree and destroying them. She was such a sweet girl. Unfortunatly, the Jack Russells attacked her during playtime, and in self defense she bit one of them. Might I point out that the damage she did was a scratch compared to what the four Jack Russells did to her. But even so, my friends' stepfather refused to have her around. So after only one night of having this majestic creature, we had to get rid of her. We frantically created posters, trying to find her a home before resorting to taking her back to the shelter. But in the end, we lost the fight. Sanity was euthanized. We will NEVER, EVER forget her caring, loving soul, her funky black eyebrow, and the way one side of her face resembled a Pit Bull, and the other resembled a Dalmation.

Bio:
Sanity is a prime example of what Pit Bulls suffer. All of her puppies were adopted, but this loving mother was not. She was discriminated against at my friends' home because of her breed. Any dog would bite back in self defense, and being a large Pit Bull mix, she could have easily killed the small Jack Russell if she wanted to. But she didn't. She barely even drew blood. Please, if you own a Pit Bull responsibly, let people see and get to know your well-behaved Pit Bull. Educate people on this misunderstood breed. They deserve better than this. We love and miss you Sanity.
