Arrival Story:
We'd been talking about getting a Chihuahua for awhile, my parents and me. It was February 13, 2004. I came home from school to find an early Valentine's Day gift and card on the kitchen counter. The card told me to go into the office to get the second half of my surprise. In a crate with a knotted sock and a blanket was what can only be desribed as a lint ball- she was that small, and ALL fur. We didn't hear her bark for 2 days, and squealed endlessly when she first did. The name Bonnie came to mind first, but Jessie Jayne (our version of Jesse James) took hold, with the name Jayne in remembrance of my grandmother.

Bio:
JJ is staring at me as I type this. She loves sleeping next to me when I'm in the office, and she goes with us EVERYWHERE. She's a great car dog, and she's already been on 3 camping trips. When she's alarmed, she'll fluff up her tail and bark, then run like the wind back into the house to hide. She's a great little guard dog, and I'd like to see someone get into our house without getting a new decoration on their leg! Now that I've moved out, Jess lives with my parents. She became very attached to my mum, and they go everywhere together now!

CAR RIDES!!!...

Today was great! So was yesterday! And tomorrow will be, too! Yesterday, we went for a...*gasp*... CAR RIDE!!!!!... Oh how i just LOVE the wind in my ears, and wagging my WHOLE body whenever we stop next to another car and the people look at me... We went into the pet supply store so Mum could get supplies for her fish collection (there's enough of them to eat me!) and I got to make friends with some more of those things called "bunnies" and some things called "guinea pigs" through the bars of their cages... The guinea pigs made weird noises- nothing like the thing Mum calls a "pig" makes! And i didn't understand... these "guinea pigs" were soo tiny compared to Martina, the "pig" at home... but oh well, they were fun to sniff... And today! we went to a car parts shop, and the people there were real great... Mum kept telling me to settle down, because i'm worse than a mexican jumping bean when i get around people!... and then we went through fast food drive-thrus, and the people talked to me... No biscuits this time, though...*sigh*... but i got french fries!... and I trained my mum so that when she holds up a piece of chicken, she'll give it to me if i raise my paw for it!... Humans are so easy to train... and i got a lot of chicken, because Mum liked watching me raise my paw... She's always so proud of me when I do a trick... I can't wait for tomorrow when we get to go for another CAR RIDE!!...

Things called "Bunnies"!!...

Mummy took some time off the computer today to bring some things she called "bunnies" into the front yard. I followed her around like a mad thing, trying to see into MY pet crate that obviously didn't have ME in it! And then, she took MY play pen, set it up in the front yard around MY tree, and put these two things into it. I studied them a moment. There were two of them, and one looked like me! It had big ears, and fur that was long and soft. It even had blue, only it had streaks, and I have a blue nose. The other one was like me too, only without the blue and with short fur. So I was thinking these things were Chihuahuas like me (i'm STILL a Pit Bull at heart!), until I realized one important thing... NO TAILS! And boy would they hop! Mummy kept calling them "bunnies", and petting them. All I kept doing was running around MY play pen and barking. I wanted them OUT of there! When Mummy went inside for lunch, I stayed out there, barking at these "bunnies". Finally, at the end of the day, Mummy loaded them back into MY pet crate and took them back out to the barn and put them into THEIR pen, up off the ground away from predators, and inside the warm building. Man, was I glad to have those things gone! But as we were leaving, I heard Mummy say that she'd set them up in the front yard again tomorrow. Grrr!

The Devastation!...

Mummy is ALWAYS on this stupid machine she calls a "computer" looking at Pit Bulls that need new homes. I dunno why she does though, when she has me! I grab onto my rope toys and can be swung around just like a Pit Bull, and wouldn't you know it! I'm ALMOST as friendly as a Pit Bull, too! But guess what? Mum told me I'm something called a "chihuahua". Can you believe it?! I'm not even PART Pit Bull! I'm not even big enough to BE a Pit Bull! It's amazing... I think I'll go chew up her shoes now or something. It's going to take a while for this information to sink in. I'll just have to keep telling myself that I'm a Chihuahua, not a Pit Bull... *sigh*
